Who even was she...? Was she herself...? Pffft no...and besides who was Coulson to her...? Her lover? boyfriend? best friend? Just friends??? Hell even she didn't know who he was to her but she knows for a fact that what her and Ward did back then was and is against protocol... she wouldn't make the same mistake again with Coulson... and then daisy, Elena, Mack, and the others. They are all family... they care about one another and love one another as brothers and sisters would(except for the people who are together as a couple!!!) it's a Tuesday at in the bus and sometimes she wonders how Coulson even got her back on the team...he pulled her out that office into being a pilot for they're team...
Now look at where she is...
She has a family here...
A home...
A lover she has feelings for but won't admit...
A daughter figure....
A team....
A life to live...
And an agent to be proud to work for shield...
But she never ever liked showing emotions says it's a way of showing weakness but she learned it was okay.. to feel weak and to feel useless but when someone was always there to pick her up... and nothing could ever change that she was extremely greatful that Coulson really had pulled her out the office...

Melinda May was no longer 'just the pilot' ....
