Ten stressful minutes later, Lillian's taxi pulled up outside the club. She practically threw her money at the cabbie and rushed inside. She was surprised by the scene in front of her. Beth was sat down with two men, drinking tea.

"Um.....is everything okay here?" she asked, breathless. Beth looked up and gave Lillian an embarrassed smile.

"I'm sorry for panicking earlier.....it turns out these two are the builders Mr. Law sent to fix up the club." The older of the two stood and held out a hand.

"Miss. Jones I presume?" All Lillian could do was nod. "I'm David Stokes and this is my apprentice, Sam." The young man looked up and gave Lillian a shy smile. "Mr. Law just called us to come and sort this place out for you.......it looks a right mess, was it a burglary?"

"Something like that." she replied. "Listen, I'm afraid I can't afford your services right now." David shook his head.

"Oh no, Mr. Law is paying us, he just said you were the one we had to report to." Lillian was completely thrown off. Why would this man do what he did, only to fix the club up again. "we can start tomorrow morning if that's okay with you?"

"Of course, I normally get in around 8am so anytime from then." He nodded and passed her a card. "Thank you, now if you gentlemen will excuse me, I have a telephone call to make." Without another word Lillian headed into her office and shut the door.

"Well, your first meeting is tomorrow morning at 9am. Luckily for you, Michael Law was a very prepared man, so all the notes are here.....all you need to do is read through them." Instructed Uriel in full PA mode.

"Yes, yes of course." Muttered Lucifer, leaning back in his office chair. "She still hasn't called, what's happening?" Uriel felt a pang of sympathy for his brother.

"She will Luc, I'm sure of it." A silence settled over them before Uriel broke it. "Do you think she deserves to go to Hell, brother?" Lucifer shrugged.

"She will be with me.....that is all that matters."

"And you think that will be enough for her?" Lucifer was quiet. He had no idea if it would, but she belonged to him and he deserved to finally have her. Of course she would be happy with that. The ringing of the phone interrupted his thoughts.

"Hello?" he said as he snatched up the receiver. His receptionist's voice came through and disappointment gripped him.

"Mr. Law, I have Miss. Jones on the line....shall I put her through?"

"Yes!" he said a little too loudly, before calming down. "Yes please Emily." The phone clicked. "Hello?"

"What is going on here Mr. Law?"

"What do you mean Li....Lillian?"

"Well I'm glad you finally remembered my name! Now tell me....why would the man that paid someone to trash my club, then pay someone else to fix it up again?" Lucifer took a deep breath.

"What I did to you was awful Lillian, I had to make it right." There was a silence on the line before he heard her voice again, filled with suspicion

"Seriously....it's as simple as that?"

"What more is there?"

"With people like you Mr. Law, there is always an ulterior motive."

"I promise I am doing it out of the kindness of my heart." he said with a smile. He heard Lilith laugh.

"Ah, so they gave you a heart in hospital then? That was nice of them." As happy as Lucifer was to be speaking to his Lilith again, he could not help the flare of anger he felt. He was the king of Hell, no one had spoken to him like that in millennia
