As I went out the door I felt someone pull me back, it was Ryan. "What do you want Ryan?" I asked and he smirked "You might have everyone else fooled but I'm on to you Chloe, there's something your hiding and I'll find out" Is that so? Huh? Ryan is brave I'll give him that but I'm the queen around here.
It's about time he learnt that, I scoffed and held him against the wall. "You don't know who your threatening Ryan, I may have been on standby for a while but I'm not anymore. I'm Chloe Stone, I run things around here, and you better show me some respect" I spat and I saw the fear in his eyes and he hid it with a wicked smile. "If you wasn't so hot, I'd be more nasty to you" I chuckled as I let him go "Flattery will only get you hurt Ryan, so stop the sweet talk and keep that pretty mouth shut" I smiled.

I went out the door and I shrugged out of my black jacket as I got up the road, I put on my serpent jacket and I smiled as I did. I rang Stevie to let him know I was on my way, "I'm on my way ste, do you mind not telling bone about this I want to surprise him" I said and I could hear the excitement in his voice "Of course! I'll keep my mouth shut, it's good to have you back" I sighed and said "it's great to be back".
I walked into the bar and everyone stopped what they were doing, I got a few glares and hisses. I wasn't exactly welcome, they think I'm a traitor for leaving. But not anymore, I cleared my throat as I stood on stage and grabbed the microphone in the mic stand. "For those of you who don't know, I'm Chloe Stone and for those of you who know I'm back and I don't care if you think me a traitor because we all know a serpent never sheds it's skin. If anyone has a problem they can come up here and say it to my face, if not then keep your damm mouths shut!" Then Bone came down the stairs and clapped as he did, "Quite the performance Chloe, why don't you come and give your uncle bone a hug?" I ran over to him and hugged him. I punched his arm lightly as I did, "I thought I'd surprise you, I'm back and for good this time I've been a mess lately but I thought that the best cure was to come back home".
Bone hadn't changed since I last saw him, he had the same bald head as I remembered. A few wrinkles but he wore the same black shirt, his black serpent jacket was worn and a few rips in the arms. You could see the faint pink scar across his nose, and the same wicked smile and deep chuckle. His eyes were black and when he was angry you could see them turn coal black, I never saw them but  Stevie told me a story of when he once made Bone angry but Bone loved Stevie like a son and I was like a niece but he was the closest thing I had to a father, he looked out for me. "Why is she being welcomed back?! You should put a bullet in her head boss, she's no serpent she's a rat!" One of the girls spat and I turned around and glared at her I walked over to the pool table she was hiding behind, I grabbed the stick from her hands and pressed it against her neck as I pushed her into a wall. "I'll shove this cue right down your throat and fish out your guts if you dare disrespect me again, am I understood?" She laughed and I pressed harder on her neck. And spat "Do.You.Get. It?!" I let a little venom in my words and she shook under my grip and she nodded, I let go and pushed her to the floor.
Bone chuckled with delight and said "That's my girl! Everyone, I'd like to welcome back one of my best warriors and niece. And raise your glasses to the princess herself, Chloe Stone!" He raises his glass of whiskey and everyone followed, Stevie walked in and welcomed me with open arms that I jumped into. "It's good to see you rover, I've missed you" Bone called me into his office along with Stevie, he shut the door and told his henchmen to leave. "So, Chloe, where have you been?" Bone asked and I said "I was put in care three years ago, mum left me half starved and I almost died. I was found and I've been in care since then, I'm surprised Stevie didn't tell you" I looked at Stevie and he shrugged. "In care?! Starved?! Why would Dixie let you get like that? When I get hold of her!" Bone growled in rage and I placed my hand on his and looked him in the eye and said "She's not worth it, I'm fine anyway bone you don't need to go after her, I already gave her a piece of my mind almost a year ago" I knew how to calm Bone down and he always listened to me, even though he was twenty years older than me. I wasn't scared of him and he never harmed me, he took a sip of whiskey and slammed the glass on the table as he took a deep breath and smiled. "Anyway, I need you two to deliver something for me, it's for Tony my associate and he wants it this evening. I know you two won't let me down hence why I called you in here, deliver the packages and go that's all you have to do" Bone ordered and I nodded, I knew it was drugs but I was just focused on getting it done.
"Rover?, are you okay?" Stevie asked as we loaded up the packages in the back of his motorbike, and I said "Yeah, why?" Stevie raised his eyebrow at me. "I know you Chloe, there is something up and I can see it in your eyes, your not okay" I bit my lip and said "I've not been myself, you know it's been a year since he left and you were in Ireland, I fell apart and recently I've been seeing a therapist but I knew coming back to the gang was the answer" I told him and he hugged me, "Rover, why didn't you tell me? I could've let you come to Ireland with me and I would've sorted you out" Stevie had that tone, the tone of regret and like he was letting me down but he didn't let me down. No one did,
"Stevie, shut the hell up, you don't owe me anything, I say I'm fine but that's a lie I'm far from fine but I'm healing and being a serpent was always my fate and I'll take it if that's what I need to heal then so be it and I tried to repress this darkness inside me and I can feel it travelling towards my heart, soon it will takeover but I'd rather be a serpent when that happens. He left me because I told him to go, I needed him gone anyway so now no one will stop me. I'm a serpent ste, and it's about time I acted like one" I shoved the helmet on and Stevie didn't reply and just started the engine as he pushed his foot of the ground.
The sound of the grumble of the engine and the wind made me smile, like I was free and the pain only numbed. I knew the darkness will emerge and when it does I'll be ready for it, but will the people around me be ready? I'm not entirely sure.
