Mina

"Don't be embarrassing about seeing my childhood bedroom, in fact I hope that they're not home." I'm driving a van filled with Stray Kids into my parent's neighborhood. "Wowww it's really nice in here! Is that a pool?!" We pass by the resort like clubhouse and I sigh. "Yes...and a gym." Jeongin and Hyunjin first bump. "누나 will we be able to go to this clubhouse?? Please 누나!!" Jeongin asks as I pull up to my parent's house. "Oh you know I can't say no to you Innie, of course I'll make sure you get in."

We get out and I ring the doorbell. Khi answers the door and he nods at us. "Yoooo what's up guys? Oh man it's been awhile, come in." He gives me a hug and daps up everyone else as they walk in. "My kids are all here! Welcome to North Carolina, I wish that we were somewhere else but alas here we are." My mom comes and greets all of us. "Mrs. A I've noticed you don't have an American southern accent." Chan says and my mom nods. "Oh that's because originally we're from Connecticut, we're not from here." I see Chan slide Hyunjin money and I raise an eyebrow.

"Felix, my future son in law! How are you?" She hugs Felix and he smiles. "Hi Mrs.A, I'm doing alright. 5 months until the best day of my life." Khi holds his nose. "Jisung I think something stinks, all this cheesiness in the air."I roll my eyes. "Leave him alone. Where's daddy? Is he out or something?" We hear heavy footsteps coming down the stairs. "I'm here...wow all of the boys are here. Hello everyone, Khi has the game systems setup, food is ready and the clubhouse pass is in the kitchen. Help yourselves to whatever you want, I'll be in my man cave if you need me."

Jeongin squeals and tugs on my arm. "누나 can we go to the clubhouse??" I sigh and smile. "Yes Innie, who's coming with us?"

Felix

Mina, Jeongin, Hyunjin, and Chan go to the clubhouse while the rest of us play video games with Khi. "Ah shoot!! Dude follow me, cover me!" We're playing Fortnite and our team is winning. "I got you! Yeahhh take that!!" I take out someone from an opposing team. "So Felix you're alright with Mina going to the clubhouse by herself?" I shoot another guy. "What do you mean? She's with the boys." I duck and start building a fort around us to protect us from shots. "Well from what I heard, Chris and Hyunjin both have a crush on Mina. Plus they're at the clubhouse...other guys are there probably hitting on her."

We win the game and I hand the controller to Seungmin. "You're right...I'll be back."

Mina

I'm reading a book by the pool that's surprising empty besides the boys and a mom with her toddlers on the far end. "누나 please come swim with us!" I look up from my book and I see them all splashing around. "Well alright, let me take my cover off first." I put my bookmark in my book and I set it aside on my bag. When I go to unzip my cover it gets stuck. "Hey can one of you help me?"

Felix

I get to the pool area to see Chan standing a bit too close to Mina with his hands on her. I walk over there to see her giggling tossing her pool cover away to reveal her vintage bikini. "Oh hey baby, you made it! I was just about to get in the pool, do you want to join me?" She walks over to me and I pull her in for a kiss making sure the boys see. "...of course I'll join you. I'll be right in behind you." She giggles putting her hair up in a bun before jumping in. I walk up to Chan and he smiles. "Hey mate, you decided to join us?" I eye him. "Yeahhhh...why were you so close to Mina when I came in?" "Oh her zipper was stuck so I was just helping."

"Lixie are you coming? Channie come on, we want to go down the big water slide!" Mina is already by the slide with the other boys. "Coming love!"

Mina

"Wow the pool was so much fun, I love swimming with you." Felix is chilling in my room and I just finished washing my hair. "You looked so cute earlier I just wanted to...nevermind. Why was Chan so close to you earlier?" I raise an eyebrow as I detangle my hair. "The zipper was stuck and it wouldn't work so he was just helping me. Why are you making that face? Are you jealous?" He stays quiet and that answers my question. "I don't know why you're jealous, you know that I only have eyes for you. Chris is your best friend, I don't want to become between you and your friend."

He sighs and gets up grabbing my brush from me and starts brushing my hair. "You're right...Khi just said something earlier that stirred up some feelings. Sometimes I feel like I'm going to lose you to Chan because he's older and you two get on so well. I'm sorry, it sounds stupid huh? Wow your hair is really soft, it's gotten really long!" I smile at him through my reflection in the mirror. "It's not stupid, I felt the same way when you were on tour and when you're laughing with other girls in the company."

He smiles as he attempts to try to put my hair in a braid down my back. "You're so cute, I love you too much to even look at other girls. This braid is actually kinda cute, I'm getting good at this." I lean back and look up at him and he kisses my nose. "Thank you Lixie, I love it...I'm kinda anxious about tomorrow. I've not been to his gravesite in a long time." He caresses my cheek and rubs it with his thumb. "Will telling me the story of how you two met make you feel better?" I nod.

Flashback to the Fall of 2017

I make my way through the campus of the college to go to my art class. It was a regular day because I was often alone because my childhood best friend was already graduated from high school and off out of state at her dream college. I climb up the stairs looking at the printout map I received in orientation. "Lost?" I look up to see a handsome guy smiling at me. "Yeah kind of, I'm looking for my illustration class." "Oh me too, come on let's be lost together. I'm Noah Park by the way." I smile as we walk into the lobby together. "I'm Mina, nice to meet you."

We ask someone to point us in the right direction and we make it to class on time. Our professor introduces herself and gives us our first assignment to do a self portrait of ourselves. "You may sit with a friend, make sure every space is filled on the paper before moving on to drawing your partner." Noah wiggles his eyebrows at me as he slides his seat closer to mine. "So Mina we're partners right? You're the only person I know in this class." I nod facing my little table desk towards him.

"What's your drawing style? I draw anime like, ooo I like how you draw. Am I talking too much? Sorry I talk a lot when I'm anxious." I giggle still drawing in my sketchbook. "You're fine, I like your drawing style too. Are your parents from Korea? Park is a Korean name." He laughs pausing drawing. "Oh are you a koreaboo or something? Just kidding, my grandparents are, my parents are Americanized. What's your experience with Korea?"

"My brother is Korean, he's adopted. My parents always had him learning Korean in case he went to visit. He's in Korea now actually." He nods and holds up his sketchbook showing me his completed drawing of him in a bedroom. "Wow that's really cool, do you know any Korean or like the culture?" I nod holding up my sketch of me floating in space. "I like your drawing! But oh yes, I'm the only sibling that learned. I watch kdramas in my free time and listen to Kpop. After I graduate I want to teach art or English. What about you? What do you want to do?"

We start drawing each other. "Well I want to travel to New York and explore the art scene for a month. Then I want to go to Seoul and teach English until I get tired of it and do something else. Maybe do some acting or something." "You're so cool, I wish I could do that. That sounds awesome, I love New York." He shrugs looking at me and then going back to drawing. "Why not? Join me, we're best friends now. We'll travel together and have no worries. What do you say partner?" I smile as we hold up our drawings at the same time.

"Let's do it...partner!"

End of Flashback

"That's why I went to New York for awhile...at least one of us got to go." I'm laying on his lap and he's petting my hair. "I love listening to your life story. If he was still alive do you think we'd be together?" I sigh shrugging. "I don't know, Jisung would've introduced us so maybe. I miss him a lot but you're the best thing that's ever happened to me."
