(Y/n) Pov

Gnoll: Geh!! You people are!! 

Gnoll #2: Kyakyakya! New meat! I was tired of eating only Dark Elves.

Gnoll: You idiot! The people are very very powerful!! Please, please, forgive us. I didn't know you would come this way. We will leave! Right now!

Roi: No, you don't have to. We need your help, and it will be to your advantages as well. 

He points at the Ward.

Roi: Do you see that Ward? That makes the Dark Elves stronger. Break it and bring the pieces to us.

Gnoll: Ah, yes, yes we will! I will break them all and bring a whole bunch of them!

(Y/n): Hold on, we need to talk for a moment.

Gnol: Yes, yes, yes!

(Y/n): Roi. What are you trying to do?

Roi: What?

Frey: You can't take advantages of them like that!

Roi: Oops, sorry... 

(Y/n): I guess it doesn't matter anymore.

The gnolls starts destroying the wards as we take care of the dark elves. Roi attacks the cannon with his daggers, but it bounced off the cannon. I ran to the ward and destroy it.

Gnoll: Kyakyak! Yes! Yes!

(Y/n): No problem! 

I ran towards the cannon and help Kasel. Kasel blocked a cannon ball, but it pushed him back. I ran to the cannon and jumped on it, stabbed it, breaking the cannon. I ran with the Monado still in the cannon. I jumped over the elf behind the cannon and cut his head off with REX. 

3rd Pov

Cassandra walks over to the Gnoll, and takes the Ward pieces.

Cassandra: Thanks for helping us.

Gnoll: Kyakyakya!

They ran back to whatever they are doing. Cleo then researched the Ward shards. After a couple of minutes of researching, she began to understand it.

Cleo: Hmm. This ward seems to be higher quality magic compared to the Nucleus of Darkness.

Erze: Really?

Kasel: Isn't it easier for the controller to just completely take over minds like back in Elidora?

Cleo: Complete control uses far more mana and is easier to reverse.

Cassandra: As we all know, Lorraine freed the Dryads from Elidora.

Cleo: In this case, however, even Lorraine will have trouble breaking the spell.

Roi: And why is that?

Frey: The Nucleus of Darkness takes over one's spirit, but this Ward controls their emotions. In Elidora, the corrupted people lost their minds completely, but this is different. They are sane, but their controlled emotions force them into swearing fealty to their queen.

Kasel: So it's easy to return people to sanity, but emotions are harder to sway.

Frey: Yes, Kasel.

Kasel: 'So the cases I got emotional were the times that the Holy Sword started emitting darkness. Are these related?'

Frey: Dark emotions are hard to turn around. The pain only gets harder to deal with once their conscience steps in. Failing to deal with that pain will paralyze reasonable thought. Sieg and Bascos are cases of this, I think...
