Alexis's POV
Today is Valentines Day. I'm actually excited about that. At first I wasn't, but now I am because I have a valentine.
It's Nathaniel.
I'm going to give him something at the end of the school day. I really hope he likes it.
But right now, I'm in class and Ms. Bustier is explaining to us about love in fairy tales.
"In most fairy tales, the prince breaks the spell by kissing the princess," Ms. Bustier explained. "Can anyone tell us why?"
"Because only love can conquer hate," Rose said as she stood up.
"Correct, Rose," Ms. Bustier said as Rose sat back down.
Max then stood up.
"Technically speaking, this reasoning is only exhibited in about 87% of all fairy tales," Max explained.
"Thank you, Max. That's enough," Ms. Bustier said. She then looks over at Adrien, who was writing something. I don't know what though. "Adrien, I hope what you're writing has to do with my lesson. Can you tell me what I just said?"
I was a bit nervous for Adrien. I don't want him to get in trouble for not paying attention.
"That's why in fairy tales, the prince breaks the spell by kissing the princess because love conquers hate," Adrien told Ms. Bustier.
Phew. That was a close one.
"Very good, Adrien," Ms. Bustier said as the bell rang. That's the cue to go home. "Now, everyone. Don't forget to finish Sleeping Beauty by Charles Perrault tonight. And Happy Valentine's Day, students."
As I pick up my backpack and walk towards the door, I look back at Adrien, who was still sitting in his seat, looking a bit sad. I decided to leave him alone and went to my locker.
Once I made it to my locker, I opened it and got all of my supplies that I needed. I also saw the gift I was going to give Nathaniel. I just need to find him.
"Hey, Alexis."
Maybe not.
I look to the side and see Nathaniel standing beside my locker with his hands behind his back.
"Hey, Nathaniel. I was just about to look for you," I told him.
"Really? It's just that I have something for you," Nathaniel told me. I was expecting him to say that since today is Valentine's Day.
"Cool. What is it?" I asked.
He then reveals what he had behind his back. It was a silver necklace of a moon and a heart in the middle that read "I love you to the moon and back."
I was so amazed at what he gave me. I held it in my hand and I observed it. I then look back up at him and give him a smile
"Thank you, Nathaniel," I thanked him. "I have something for you, too."
I reach into my locker and take out an art kit with new colored pencils, markers, pencils, etc. Since Nathaniel likes to draw, I decided to give him this.
"Here. This is for you," I told him as I handed it to him.
He looked amazed to see a new art kit. I could tell he loved it.
"Thank you, Alexis. I love it," Nathaniel said as he gave me a warm smile. "So, does this make you my girlfriend now?" He then asked.
"Yes, it does," I said as I kissed his cheek. I the waved goodbye to him and went towards the exit of the school. He was still shocked after what happened, but he snapped out of it and was super excited.
