Luke's POV
As soon as she wrapped herself in the blanket she was out cold. I didn't have the heart to move her. Or the heart to do anything but watch her sleep. She had drained herself emotionally and physically trying to get the man that I had to hire. The man I had to hire!!
I needed her to join. I didn't want her on the wrong side of this. I needed to get her out of harms way. I didn't need another mishap, I didn't want her to end up like Blair. I let two people into my life. Ones gone, and ones on the verge of collapsing. I need to protect her with all I have.I couldn't dare let her know I was the one putting those nightmares in her head. Or the lies that come out of my mouth. When I supposedly with my cabin. I'm with the crew back in the woods. I had to tell her soon. Or plant another false memory in her mind making her switch to my side. I also didn't dare tell her that it was my fault she was shot.
She needn't end up like Blair. God, don't let her end up the way Blair did. It's my fault Blair is gone.FLASHBACK TO NINE YRS AGO.
THE SECOND TITAN WAR.Suddenly her body lifted off the ground. Gold mist surrounded her and her hair floated around her like a crown. Her eyes were shot open wide. Bright pink. Tears were falling down her face.
She seemed in some sort of trance. She fell to the ground. I ran over and caught her. "Peaches. Peaches please answer." No response. I shook her shoulders. I didn't notice her forearm dripping blood, or that her stomach had a huge hole missing from it.
"Blair please. Wake up. I can't lose you." Her eyes opened a bit. I kissed her. She smiled faintly. "I-I love you no matter wha-."
Her smile faded and her eyes lost the certain glow. The glow I fell in love with. Her body fell limp in my arms.
No no no no no no no no no no no no.
I shook her head. I looked down at her body. Her shirt was caked in blood. Tears upon tears upon tears streamed down my face.
I picked her body up in my arms and supported her head. "I love you so so so much." I whispered in her ear. Although I knew she couldn't hear me. I knew she heard me somewhere down in Elysium.
Milo ran down the stairs and she gasped. "Luke what did you do?!" "I-I didn't. S-she was trying to h-h-host him. I-." She gently laid her down and looked at her corpse. Tears were running down her face. I tried to pick her back up. Milo restrained me.
This is the gods fault. They did this. It's their fault!! I needed to fix this. With Kronos still out and about just roaming in her body. We need to do something, I know.
We need to put her body in Tartarus.
Three hours laterPhew, breathe Luke.... I can't believe I'm doing this. I swirled a golden drachma in my hand contemplating whether to drop it in or not. I dropped it into the puddle.
"Iris please accept my offering."
"Who would you like to talk too."
"Chiron."
The mist swirled and it showed Chiron sitting in his wheelchair on the deck of the Big House. "What do I owe this pleasure?" he said sarcastically. I took a deep breathe.
"I come with two announcements. The first. I surrender. The war, it's not what she would've wanted." He raised a brow. "Who is 'she'?" Tears fell down my cheek. "The second..." I choked up a bit. "Blair Rose Colton is dead. She died earlier this evening. In my arms. Shes dead. Tell Annabeth that...." I closed my eyes and leaned up against the counter. "Tell her that I'm sorry." I cut the connection.
I fell up against the wall crying. She wouldn't have wanted this war. She wouldn't have wanted this, all the fighting. She would've told me to balls up and just turn myself in. She would've wanted a life together. Away from all the fighting, away from the olympians. She always wanted to go to London. Visit all the cool sites. She would've wanted to live and it's all my fault.
