Chapter 75

Severe headache wakes me up. Did I drink that much? And who fetch me? I close my eyes and try to remember what happened last night. Not until I felt something sa tagiliran ko, nangingirot siya sa sakit.

HERMINIO: Good morning, Hon! Does your head aches?

REGINA: Yes, it hurts.

I said and lean on the headboard covering my body with the comforter.

HERMINIO: Okay. Just stay here and I'll cook something for you.

He kissed me and then he went out. Buti't hindi niya nahalatang nangingirot ang tagiliran ko. They don't need to know about this. I heaved as I enter the bathroom to take a bath. After half an hour, I finished taking a bath, so I went to our walk-in closet to look for something to wear. I'm done dressing up, so I went downstairs to eat breakfast.

HERMINIO: Andito ka na pala. I'm about to take this upstairs eh.

I sat down and face him.

REGINA: Where's my baby?

HERMINIO: Maybe she's still sleeping. She sleep late last night.

REGINA: Bakit naman?! Hindi ba't 8 nagcoclose yong mall na pinuntahan nila?

HERMINIO: She fetch you at the bar. Siya yong nakahanap sa'yo kagabi. And she also---

THANIA: Good morning, Dad! How's your wife?

Singit nito at umupo sa tabi ng tatay niya habang kinukusot pa ang mga mata. Halatang kagigising lang nito at hindu ako napansin.

HERMINIO: Good morning, baby! How's your sleep?

Humalik ito bago umupo sa tabi nit Ogie tsaka sumandok ng pagkain niya. Is she avoiding me? Or she didn't notice me yet?

THANIA: I'm fine, Dad. Ikaw kamusta kamay mo? Does it hurt?

HERMINIO: Don't worry about me, hindi pa ako mamamatay nang dahil sa sugat na ito.

May sugat siya? Saan niya nakuha? Ako ba may gawa?

REGINA: Good morning!

THANIA: Hi!

She didn't bother to stand up and kiss me. Instead, she just continue eating. I just smile bitterly and continue eating.

THANIA: Excuse me po, I'll just go to my room and continue sleeping. Masakit po ulo ko eh.

REGINA: Take your meds, baby. Here oh.

Inabot ko yong gamot na sana'y iinumin ko.

THANIA: Thank you po. How about you? How's your night last night? Did your head aches?

Tumango lang ako bilang sagot. Why is she that cold to me?

THANIA: Then take this na lang po. I'll just get one for me. Do you want me to cook soup for you?

REGINA: Can you? Pero kapag labag sa kalooban mo, kahit huwag na.

Then I flashed a bitter smile.

THANIA: Bakit mo naman po nasabing labag sa loob ko?

Bakit nangingilid yong luha niya? Did I say something wrong?

REGINA: You're showing me cold treatment eh. Kaya baka labas sa loob mo ang pagluluto ng soup for me.

She flashed a bitter smile at tuluyan nang bumagsak ang luha.
