GIICHI

"I'm home!" I called out after taking off my shoes and headed straight to the living room. I was tired from kendo practice. I collapsed onto the couch and turned to my side "Ara, Giichi. How was your day?" the voice of my sister, Tsutako, chimed in as I lazily looked up to her "It was fine." I replied remembering the events this morning. I blushed as I played the memory of meeting Shinobu Nee- San over and over "I prepared some food. Go and take a shower first, I'm sure the rice will be cooked by then." She said making her way back to the kitchen. I hummed and headed upstairs to get some clothes from my room. I starred at my reflection in the mirror.

"I am not disliked."

I backed away from the mirror in shock. I could've sworn I saw a glimpse of a tall man wearing a traditional haori that was plain red on the right side and a green cubed pattern on the left, under it was a buttoned up jumpsuit? His hair was long and had been tied back into a low ponytail. His skin pale with a slim almost perfect face. His eyes and hair the same color and style as mine. I blinked a few times and hopped in the shower to brush it off 'What's up with today?' I thought. I heard Tsutako Nee- San talking to someone as I headed down with a towel around my neck. I peaked to see her on the phone completely disregarding her surroundings "Nee- San! The rice!" I exclaimed as I rushed to turn the stove off. She nearly dropped her phone at my sudden yell "Oh my, I nearly forgot about that!" She said as I could hear a faint laugh coming from the other line of her phone "Nee- San, you should be more aware of your surroundings. We could've burned the house." I slightly scolded her with concern coated on my voice "I'm supposed to be the older one, but here you are scolding me. You've grown so much, Giichi." She pouted at me. I took the plates and eating utensils and set them up on the table "Anyways, don't forget about tomorrow! Giichi's gonna scold me again if I don't eat with him. Alrighty, Bye!" Nee- San said as she put her phone down and placed the food on the table "I wouldn't mind if you guys kept talking." I said as I took my seat across her "It's fine. I don't want another scolding from my little brother." She playfully joked as I laughed at her. Our whole dinner was filled with laughter. Just the two of us like its always been. Our father worked abroad and rarely came home. As for our mother.. she passed after a railway accident on her way home from work.

"Ah I almost forgot." Nee- San started "We'll be expecting visitors tomorrow. My friend is coming over for some tea." She said as she placed the last plate into the dish rack to dry "I'll probably be at kendo practice by the time you get home, Nee- San." I told her as I was playing some games on my phone "Speaking of which, your coach called. He said practice will be canceled because of urgent matters." She said sitting beside him, watching him play. He dropped his phone and looked at her. He made an are-you-for-real- face as his mouth hung agape in disappointment. She nodded and pulled him into a hug "Don't worry about it, Giichi. My friend my bring her younger sister." She said. I picked my phone up while I was still in her embrace "I probably won't talk to her younger sister because she'll most likely be older than me and doesn't know Demon Samurai." I pouted. I loved Demon Samurai, I many action figures and comic books about it "You don't know that. Plus she's really kind and pretty. Maybe you'll have your first love, Giichi." She teased with a smirk on her lips "N-not gonna happen, Nee- San!" I said blushing. She kept teasing me all throughout the night.

"I won't forget. He's growing up real fast." She chuckled "Okay, Bye!" She ended the call and placed her phone down "Who was that, Nee- San?" Her younger sister asked "It was Tsutako- Chan. I'm coming over to her house tomorrow. She also said I could bring you along if you wanted to." She offered as she grabbed an apple from the fruit basket and started slicing it "I don't have any plans in particular tomorrow. I guess I'll tag along." She replied and joined her older sister who was now eating the apples she sliced. Her older sister smiled with so much happiness that her sister was tagging along "Her younger brother scolded her for forgetting about the rice. He's a nice kid. I bet he'd be a fine young man when he comes of age." She said as she ate an apple slice "Say, do you prefer younger men, Nee- San?" The younger asked. She replied with the story that she's almost in college and she'll meet this guy whose been courting her. His name was Shinuzagawa Sanemi. He promised to wait for her to graduate from high school. Sanemi had a job as a police officer "You sure about him, Nee- San?" The younger asked "Oh come on. Of course, I very much am!" She replied with joy "Maybe you'd date younger men." Her elder sister said as a tease. The younger kept her composure and laughed it off "You never know how the tables could change, Shinobu." The elder said with a smirk "Nee- San, that's not very logical." She replied.
