Chapter 29: Time Goes By

"Shinobu~" Giichi coed into her ear "Wake up, Love. You'll be late for your lecture." He stated as she shifted in her sleep "Five more minutes..." Shinobu whined as she covered her head with her pillow. He chuckled as he laid beside her and pulled her back into his chest "Come on. No one will take you there if you don't get ready." He mentioned as he kissed the back of her head. She faced him and wrapped her arms around his torso "I'm lazy~" She complained as he scoffed and stood up with her still clutching onto his torso like a koala "What am I? A tree?" He asked jokingly as he walked into the kitchen where two plates of food were neatly placed on the table "What's with all the special service today?" She asked as she let go and walked to one of the chairs "What do you mean? I treat you like this everyday." Giichi tilted his head at her as she shook hers "Yeah, but not to the point where you put up with my whining and make breakfast without me." Shinobu pointed out as he shrugged his shoulders "I'll go shower first." She said as she turned around "Do you want me to do that for you? You said you were lazy-" "Nope! Not today, Mister." She cut him off as she locked the bathroom door. He laughed at her cuteness before going over the papers in his bag 'The architectural building. Class A-1.' He read in his thoughts as he looked through his other papers before hearing a door open. He looked up to see Shinobu dripping wet with a towel draping down her figure as she walked barefoot into their room. He hid his papers as he patiently waited for her. She came out wearing white short sleeved button up shirt with a beige wool vest that hugged her figure. She wore black boyfriend jeans and her usual red ribbon "Why'd you wait for me? You still have to drive to Setagaya." She mentioned as he shook his head "I could Tokyo drift to there." He joked as he chuckled. She hit his arm before they said their prayers and began eating. He wore a white shirt with a blue dragon printed in the middle and an unbuttoned red checkered shirt. Regular denim jeans with a black belt around his hips. They quickly finished before checking if they had everything they needed "Let's go." Giichi smiled as he drove out of the parking lot and off to her school. Shinobu was about to reach for the door, but he didn't stop in front of the gate "What are you doing?" She asked as he drove in and looked for a parking slot. He parked it with a frantic Shinobu beside him. He got out after with her hurriedly following. He walked to the courtyard past the gate "Giichi, aren't you going to Setagaya?" She asked as he stopped "Yo! Giichi!" A call was heard as Giichi happily turned and hugged his best friend "Sabito! Long time no see!" He exclaimed as they exchanged greetings "Don't forget about me!" Makomo reminded as they group hugged with Shinobu blinking at them cluelessly "Wait. Wait. What?" She asked as he walked up to her "Surprise!" He snickered as it clicked to her before she gasped and hit his chest "You dumbass!" She said as he pulled her into his embrace "You could've just told me!" She pouted as he kissed her forehead "Where's the fun in that? Plus, your reaction was cute." He said before pinching her cheek "Makomo's going to the same department as you." Giichi said as the two girls reunited "I'll walk you guys to your lectures. What buildings are you in?" She asked as they told her before they headed off. They dropped Makomo off first. She was in the same building as Shinobu, but her lecture was on the second floor of the left wing. Next was Sabito, in Business Management building 4. Lastly, the two walked to the Architectural building with their hands intertwined. They entered with people staring at them.

"Isn't that Kochou- san from the M.D building?"
"Yeah! She's quite popular among the other departments."
"Who's that dude she's with?"
"I think that's her boyfriend that visited last year."
"I haven't seen him around here. Maybe he's new?"

"Shinobu- chan!" A sudden call was heard as they turned to see Mitsuri running towards them "Mitsuri- san?!" She exclaimed as the pink haired latter embraced her tightly "What are you doing here?" She asked as she stood up properly "Ah! Since I was an art major before I decided to teach here while Obanai handles his business." She explained "I thought you guys had a restaurant." Giichi said as she nodded "Yeah. We do. He opened it since I liked his cooking so much. He's actually the CEO and founder of this auto business. I was bored so I told him I'd find a fun job!" Mitsuri happily said as the two nodded "Obanai- kun might kill the guys gawking at you though." Shinobu pointed out as she chuckled at the lovestruck sophomores "That's something alright." Giichi added. They finished up as Mitsuri made her way to the teacher's lounge. The two were the main attraction now as they happily chatted while looking for his lecture hall. Once they found it they stood there hand in hand "This it. I'll get going then." She smiled as she was about to walk away, but he pulled her back and smashed his lips onto hers. She smiled through the kiss as she kissed back and cupped his cheeks "Don't miss me too much." Shinobu reminded as he rested his temple against hers "I'll try." Giichi chuckled as he kissed the back of her hand before waving at her figure that disappeared when she walked away. He entered his lecture room and chose a seat next to the window. He admired the view before seeing her walk to her building with a smile "Yo! Was that your girlfriend, Dude?" Some guys asked as they started to chat. This became the new normal for them. Until this new girl entered the picture. Shabana Ume was a freshman in the Political Science department. She was head over heels the moment she laid eyes on Giichi. She changed the way she dressed, she waited in front of the Architectural building every morning, she'd even pester him after classes. However, he'd always turn her down and ignore her mentioning he had a girlfriend. She never gave up though and he thought nothing would happen, but that changed after one incident. Shinobu was walking towards the entrance of her building before someone tugged on her hair and she landed on the ground "You bitch! Stop being such a thot and brushing up to Giichi- senpai!" Ume yelled as she delivered continuous slaps onto Shinobu's face. She fought them back by catching her wrists "Who the hell do you think you are?!" Shinobu yelled as she pushed her off of her "Get back here!" Ume called, but her actions were stopped by a firm grip on her wrist "Who the-" "This wasn't what I expected you to do, Ume." A husky voice said as she whipped her head back "G-Gyuutaro..." She called as he shook his head disappointingly at her "Shinobu!" Giichi exclaimed as he ran towards her and helped her up. She spat out some blood onto the ground as she fixed her hair. Her cheeks were red as one of them had a small bruise. Some blood trickled down from her nostril and the side of her mouth "I'm fine-" "Stop. Don't say that." He cut her off as he grabbed her handkerchief from her bag and wiped the blood from her face. His gaze then landed on Ume as his blood boiled "You!-" He was about to charge at her, but Shinobu grabbed his arm and shook her head "G-Giichi- senpai, I can-" "What the fuck was that for?" He asked coldly as he knitted his brows. She stayed silent as the atmosphere got heavier "I told you to back off so many times. Just because I'm with someone else doesn't mean you get to beat the shit out of them." He started as he slightly approached her. Koyuki was comforting Shinobu as they watched. Gyuutaro wasn't going to stop him. His sister needed to hear what he was saying "I ignored all your previous stunts because it didn't affect any of us, but you've crossed the fucking line!" He yelled. The once nice and gentle Giichi that was known around the school was no longer there. This was a different side of him. The side he didn't want to show anyone "J-Just... Why her?" She asked 'Is she stupid or something?' He thought as he scoffed "If it isn't already obvious, I love her. Get that in your head will you?!" He pointed at her as she trembled "I was trying to be nice by declining you in the nicest possible way I could, but for you to beat up the person who means the most to me. You don't deserve a single kind gesture from me or anyone." Giichi said as he turned his back to her and went back to Shinobu "Get out of my sight. I don't want to see your sickening face here." He finished off as Gyuutaro pulled her out of campus.
