Chapter 22: Graduation

"Its your last day of school, right? You're graduating tomorrow?" Shinobu asked as they passed his school. Giichi let out a sigh "Yeah. I'll miss it." He said with a smile. Shinobu hummed in agreement as they reached her school "Well, I'll be there to congratulate you." She said as she hopped off and went up to him. He smiled as she cupped his cheeks "Then I'll dress my best." He chuckled. She pecked him on the lips "Wear whatever you want. I'm fine with it." She said as she ruffled his hair "How about nothing?" He joked as she laughed "Giichi! No!" She said through laughs as he snickered. He smiled when he saw her laughing face. It made him feel warm "Okay you two lovebirds, our class will begin soon. We better get going." Koyuki interrupted as the couple looked at her. She was followed by Nakime and Tamayo. They laughed nervously as the trio smiled at them "I'll get going then. I'll be awaiting you at graduation." Giichi said as he pecked her on the forehead. She waved as he pedaled off to school. Shinobu suddenly felt three hands on her shoulders. She gulped as she felt the hungry presence of her friends "So he's graduating tomorrow? Quite the big day." Nakime said with a smirk "How will you celebrate with him, Shinobu- chan?" Tamayo asked with the same look "Oh how I wonder how she will." Koyuki said as they pulled Shinobu with them into the school building.

"Captain!" The member called when Giichi parked his bike. He hummed in reply once he reached him "We'll have our last meeting today." He reminded in a sad tone "Oh yeah. I also have to pick a new captain, huh?" Giichi said as the member nodded "We'll leave that for later. Go enjoy the day." He gave a small smile. The member looked at him with his mouth agape before nodding happily and leaving. He then felt someone jump on his back "What the-" "Gii-kun!!!" Makomo exclaimed as she held onto him tightly "Yo!" Sabito yelled as he saw what happened. His eye slightly twitched as he smiled angrily "Motherfucker, You scared the crap out of me." He said as Makomo got off. Sabito encircled his arms around her shoulder as he hissed "Chill, dude. I got Shinobu." Giichi said as he raised his hands up to calm him down. They walked in the halls as students chattered through them. Many were running around or leaving trademarks or maybe even taking photos "Tomioka- senpai!" A girl called. He turned to see a group of girls coming up to him "Can we have a photo with you?" One asked as he hesitantly nodded. All of them gathered around him as they took the group photo. They thanked him before dashing away. He was about to walk away, but then "Hey! Mr. Popular!" A guy called. He turned to see some of the guys he knew. He greeted them as they asked for high fives or chest bumps. They dragged him away to certain places in the school. From the cafeteria to the field "I'll miss you guys." One of them said as he looked up at the sky "Then let's take a picture!" One suggested as he whipped out his phone. They held up poses for the photo as a click told them it was done "I'll send it to you guys later." He said as they went back into the school. Giichi waved goodbye before looking for his two friends. Once he found them, he decided to stay with them for a while "We'll still see each other in college." Sabito assured as he harshly patted Giichi's back "If you pass." He teased as Sabito chased him down the hall. Eventually, he caught up and slapped the back of his head "I was just kidding." Giichi pouted as Makomo giggled at them. They made their way to their classroom to put their bags down. It was like a free day. No classes, no teachers, no school stuff. It was just a day to collect things or leave trademarks and make their last memories. The day was filled with happiness that was also mixed in with sorrow. The day ended as their final bell rang. The last bell they'd ever get from high school. Giichi made his way to the dojo as he heard some sniffs coming from inside. He entered to see his juniors training for the last time with their seniors. They noticed his presence as they formed a line "Relax. We won't train today." He said as he sat on the mat "We'll just talk about things. Sit down." He said with a small smile. They all obeyed as they started talking.

"Captain." One called "How about we do one memorable thing?" He suggested as Giichi gave a smug smile "Let me guess. The line up?" They nodded as he rolled his sleeves up "Get your shinais then!" He said as they quickly ran into a line. He grabbed his shinai as he fought each of them one on one "You've gotten faster." He complimented as he blocked a hit. His opponent smiled as he thanked their captain before Giichi lightly tapped his arm with the tip of his shinai. Then came forth was a junior of his "You're a junior, right?" He asked as he took his stance "Yes, Captain!" He replied as he took his stance "Show me what you got, Yahaba." He said as Yahaba dashed at him. Their shinais collided as Giichi was impressed by his strength. The last match ended as he defeated all of them. They put their shinais away before sitting in a circle "I've got to admit, you've all gotten stronger." He complimented as they all thanked him "We'll miss you, Captain." One said with tears welling up in his eyes. Majority of the club had juniors. There were only 10 seniors. 6 were graduating and 4 were staying another year. He nodded as he sighed "I'll miss all of you too." He smiled as his team burst into tears "Captain." They cried. He smiled at them nervously as he sweat drop. He started chuckling. The room went silent as it was filled with his light laughter. It was rare for him to laugh when he was with his team even though he looks very approachable "Drop the 'captain'. It's Tomioka." He said as his laughter died. They wept even harder as Giichi shed a few tears. He opened his arms as the members jumped onto him for a big group hug. The coach then entered to give his last words for the club. They took a group photo, and even decided to go out to eat. Giichi asked if he could bring someone along as his coach nodded. He said he'd follow to the restaurant as they concluded their last metting in the dojo. They left the school as Giichi pedaled off to pick up Shinobu. As he pedaled, he noticed a certain blonde pervert standing by the gate. His blood boild as he realized it was Douma. He went past him and into the school gate. He waited in there for her. Shinobu walked out of the building with her friends as Giichi waved at them.
