"Trust me, you can dance."

-Vodka

It is on the cusp of midnight as Eli paced around in Tracy's old bedroom. Just hours before, Raven and him had been sprawled out on the blankets. Her shirt is slightly raised up that morning, and he danced his fingers across her stomach, waking her up, she looks at him through blurry eyes, grinned, and then rolled her head away falling back asleep. Now the room is dead - dead being without life and utterly drained of any substance relating to emotion. Eli takes a shot from a vodka bottle. He retrieved it from the fridge downstairs - it is a remnant from the all-nighter everyone pulled at Arrow Lake. Another memory washing over me. Is there not enough to drown my pain like it says in the music songs, in the movies, on television - drink the pain away.

The storm just beyond his balcony has started to piss rather than pour, but the sounds weren't invited in anymore, though the summer breeze is welcome. He ignored the sounds of sprinkles, in favor of the cool air blowing through the room. He takes another large sip. It stung his mouth, throat, and eyes. It's bitter to the taste but sweet to the mind.

An hour passes and Evelyn runs across the house butt naked after getting out of the shower. It happens that she'd forgotten her black robe, the one that draped down past her knees, but she finds it folded on the arm of the sofa where she lays it. She rubs herself down in oil - her neck, arms, breast, stomach, legs, and buttocks. The timely ritual of being a woman. She robes up as her phone begins dinging. She hadn't noticed the headlights peering from the darkness just beyond the porch, as she is tired, and not very efficient in her focus.

Ocean: I'm outside. Road got cut off by a tree. 1:20 AM

Ocean: Can I stay? 1:23 AM

Ocean: Aye yo Bitch lol. 1:26 AM

Eve opens the door for Ocean. She steps in with her leather jacket throwing droplets on the wooden floor at her feet. In one hand a backpack stuffed full of thick books, probably that of homework, Evelyn assumes. "Damage report."

Ocean scratches her face with her nails because a drop ran down making her itch, "It's pretty bad out there. I went about half a mile up but there is a big ass tree laying across. You should have seen everyone trying to turn around on the other side. I'm just glad I was able to back up without sliding off the side of the road. You know how it dips through there."

"I wonder if Blair and Rave made it all okay."

"Didn't seen anyone. Probably, it just fell I'd say," Ocean drops her bag, removes her leather jacket and hangs it on the coat rack next to the door.

"Where's your brother?"

"Upstairs," Eve starts walking back into the living room. "He's a little down."

"Why? Because of that girl?" Ocean raises her brows and takes a seat on the sofa next to Eve.

"Yeah."

"They just met really?" She has concern in her voice.

"Well, not exactly. We knew her growing up and they sort of had a love thing going on for a long time."

"Yeah but that was a long time ago, right. When you guys moved here."

"I've tried to tell him but he's one of those hopeless romantics." Eve says in a huffy-puffy tone. "What can you do?"

"For a hopeless romantic? Probably nothing." Ocean chimes. She produces her iPhone from the pocket of her pants and begins strolling through Facebook. She came across a picture of Eve's Celtic Cross tattoo. "I plum forgot about your tat. You were supposed to send this to me first dick."
