September 11th, 2020 - The air is beginning to get chilly at night time, the leaves are falling from the trees and everything around everyone is dying for the winter.
Eve and Eli are in the living room, watching The Invisible Man on Hulu, the smell of popcorn floods the house, and the lights are all off. Eve is on the edge of her seat, nervous for another one of Eli's jump scares.
Eli screams, this time causing Eve to jump so hard she slips off the couch.
"Fucking stop, prick. This movie is scary enough, dammit." She yells.
"I couldn't help myself. It's too entertaining."
Eve climbs back onto the couch and pulls her blanket up around her face and gets lost in the movie once again.
"I'm going to the bathroom, be right back." Eli jumps up and heads out of the living room.
From the next room over Eve hears a door knob rattling.
"Fucking stop it, Eli. You're getting on my last damn nerve!"
"What did I do now?" Eli yells, his voice travels from upstairs.
Wait, what? What could that be?
A loud knocking comes upon the door.
"Let me in!"
Eve walks to the front door and looks out the peep hole and screams, she pulls the front door wide open.
"Blair! What are you doing here?"
"Ah, I just couldn't stay away from you." She laughs and pulls Eve in for a tight hug.
Eli came walking down the stairs. "Blair? Wait, what?"
"Hey punk, I got a surprise for you." She winks at him and turns toward the door.
"Hey stranger."
Eli's eyes turn toward the door and he almost collapse and his heart beings to race and a smile forms across his face bigger than it has ever been.
Raven is standing at the door.
"Raven!" Eli begins walking fast over to her and pauses. From behind her right leg a little head is peeking around at him with curious light brown eyes. His hair is dark and curly like Raven's.
"There's someone I want you to meet." Raven says and moves into the house.
"Oh wow. Are you sure?" Eli says nervously.
"Yes. If you want to?"
"Of course," Eli bent down to the kid's height, he's still lodged behind Raven's leg peeking around, his right arm is wrapping around a blue sippy cup. "Hey little guy. It's nice to meet you."
He pulls his head back and buries it into Raven.
"Don't be shy baby, he's nice." Raven squats down, and nudges him to the side of her, wrapping her arm around his waist.
"Do you shake hands, perhaps?" Eli laughs and holds out his hand.
The little boy runs over and leaps into Eli's arms and gave him the biggest hug.
Eli almost topples over as he wraps his arms back around the little boy and holds him tight. "So, you're a hugger, huh? I like that."
"I'm four years old." he says to Eli.
"Aw, really? You're a big boy, aren't you? Do you got any muscles?"
The little boy throws up his arms pretending to flex his muscles.
