KLAUS.

Emilia couldn't believe what she was seeing. Klaus Mikaelson was infamous in the supernatural world. Anyone supernatural knew about Klaus and his reputation preceded him.

Klaus Mikaelson is known as the big, bad hybrid. He's supposed to be a cruel, merciless monster. He kills the other vampire quickly by simply removing his heart. He looked at Emilia after killing the other vampire with the heart his hand. He drops the heart and he stares not in a weird way but in a curious almost pondering way.

While Klaus Mikaelson was staring at her and thinking his own thoughts, Emilia was trying to look anywhere, but him to avoid looking at his bloodied hand that previously held a vampire's heart. She was confused that somehow in the hustle and bustle of Chicago he heard her screaming for someone to save her. Emilia knew that something bad was going to happen to her whether she died or the man, no vampire, did something a lot worse to her. Despite it being Klaus Mikaelson, Emilia was glad that someone came and saved her, but hopefully, he wouldn't hurt her too.

Currently, Emilia sat timidly with her back against the wall of a dirty alley behind a pizza shop looking at the creature before her. Emilia had her hand covering her neck on the spot the vampire tried to bit her. Earlier she had connected the dots to who he was and said his name aloud. Klaus Mikaelson finally replied in a posh British accent getting her focus, "How do you know that, love?"

Emilia paused for a moment to think of the words she should say afraid she would be killed if she said something wrong. After figuring out what to say, she then put on her best poker face to conceal her fear. "Well, when you killed that vampire over there your eyes were yellow like a werewolf and you had veins under your eyes like a vampire. Then I put two and two together, hence Klaus Mikaelson, the hybrid."

Klaus was actually genuinely impressed. No one usually seemed so calm sitting near the crazy hybrid who could end their life in an instant. But she only seemed calm, her poker face was pretty good that it concealed all her fear to the unsuspecting eye, but when he listened to her heartbeat he could hear it beating faster than normal. Alas, those thoughts lasted a second at best and he slow clapped in a manner that seemed both taunting and at the same time almost regal. "Well done love, you seem to know a lot about me, now who might you be?"

"I'm Emilia."

"Well Emilia, you already know so much about me, so I might just have to end this quick. Apologizes, love."

Klaus speeds towards her. He blocks her movement in any direction, trapping her in her current position. Right before, Klaus snaps her neck she interrupts.

"Wait, Klaus, what if we make a deal instead. You know maybe I do something for you and I get to live."

Klaus chucked at the idea that she thought she could manipulate him, but he knew it was going to be over for her soon, so he allowed her to have hope of living. "What kind of deal were you thinking of love?"

Emilia pondered for a couple of moments but in her head, it felt like hours. She needed to realistically think about what a teenage girl who just learned to drive could offer an immortal hybrid who could get anything he wanted. Her thoughts led her to the internet. Emilia internally chuckled thinking of how you can do anything with the internet. After that, her thoughts led back to the pizza shop she worked at, well realistically used to work at. She remembered working as a cashier and all the memories with Zach and Nancy. That led her to think about how she would always help Nancy keep track of her tasks, organize her files, and basically manage all the boring, trivial parts of her life. She knew Klaus was waiting for an answer and she hadn't thought of anything else that might even be decently helpful, so she resorted to that idea.

"Unlike most girls, I'm definitely not interested in doing anything of the nasty sort, but I could be your assistant or something. I know it sounds stupid and I sound stupid saying sorry I'm rambling but uh I could basically help plan your life and manage you know the human stuff that's boring yet at the same time necessary."

Klaus actually burst out laughing. Klaus himself couldn't even remember the last time he had laughed this hard. Klaus was shocked at the answer she gave not only because of its weirdness but also it was so different from anything he had heard before. If Klaus would've ever done something like this girls would've only asked for one thing, sex. Klaus knew he was hot and girls usually were fawning over him. It was quite a shock that she didn't. And on top of that, she said this random answer out of the blue. Klaus couldn't believe she had come up with such a creative answer so quickly. After a while, Klaus finally composed himself and returned to his original stance. "I'll give you that. I haven't laughed like that in ten years. Why would I even need or want an assistant?"

"Well Klaus, I honestly don't know why my answer was that funny. I really wasn't trying to be." Emilia knew he was right he had a point. Emilia paused for a couple of seconds trying to think of a reason, but she had none. She then tried to make up something on the fly. "Well, you are probably super important in the supernatural community with your big, bad hybrid reputation and all but everyone who is important has an assistant. I mean look at all the famous celebrities who have assistants and even presidents of important companies have assistants. Technically, by you not having an assistant you could be showing some people the wrong impression without one."

Klaus was shocked by the answers she had given. Klaus then thought of the prospect of having an assistant. He then ended up thinking why not I can try something new. He then confronted the idea that he had been making the wrong impression all this time without one. "Fine. How about a decade long bender?"

"I know technically you're the one in power over this deal, but come on. I'm only 16. I want to go to college. I want to find love. I want to do so many things, but I'll be so far behind if I have to commit my life for the next ten years. Ten years for me means missing the prime of my life. I know you don't care about me whatsoever, but please extend this mercy to me and make it only two years so I know you intend not to kill me."

Klaus ended up giving in and agreed. It was confusing to Klaus himself why he ever agreed. Klaus knew he was the alpha, the one in charge. He could've made her do anything he wanted, but for some reason, he didn't. It could've been her trustworthy vibe, her powerful aura, her silver tongue, but one thing was for sure, both of their lives would change forever.
