When innocence is killed it is taken over by rage which may make you do the impossible if channelized in a proper way

This is not something that I picked up from a movie or fiction. It's a bitter truth served in a different style which is not recognized by people unless they give a thought about what made them pursue something which they didn't even imagine a few years back. It is also a part of history where people redirect their rage towards their goals and thus made it fuel their dreams.

There are plenty of examples out there to relate to this thought as well as there would be plenty of quotes related to it. The only thing we need to understand here is how the innocence gets killed and by innocence, I mean the trigger that brought a change in a person's life. The trigger can be related to anything, it can be a bad day, a bad instance, a bad person that you met or a delightful day, a promotion, etc. 

There are two things in this world which are dreaded by people - Free will and Self Determination. Understand this, the first might look like an illusion but the latter is the actual truth behind this thought because it is at the lowest when a person would feel pity for himself and the next feeling is the rage which if handled with care and put into right direction can work in wonderous ways.
