The morning sun had barely crested the horizon when Tae's eyes fluttered open. After the breathtaking romance of the previous night, he found himself in an exceptionally radiant, giddy mood. He stretched his arms above his head, a soft sigh escaping his lips.
Ting!
The sharp chime of a notification echoed through the quiet room. Tae lunged for his smartphone on the nightstand, his heart doing a familiar little dance when the screen lit up with Kook's name.
[From: Kookie]
Good morning, sunshine! 😊
Tae stared at the glowing screen, a bright flush immediately taking over his cheeks. "Tsk... this man," Tae murmured to himself, biting his lower lip as a helpless giggle escaped him. "He is seriously so incredibly cheesy. I never would have expected this sweet side from a strict CEO... hihihi."
Amused and riding the wave of affection, Tae quickly tapped out a playful reply without giving it too much thought.
[To: Kookie]
Good morning to you too, moonlight. 🌙
The moment his finger hit send, Tae frozen. His eyes widened as he stared at the screen in pure, unadulterated horror. "Wait... what?! Moonlight?!" he gasped out loud, dropping his phone onto the mattress as if it had burned him. "Where on earth did I even get that from?!"
He buried his burning face into his palms, groaning loudly into the empty room. "Aiiissssshh! TaeTae, like, for real?! Moonlight? Where in the world did that come from... ehhh!" He rolled across the bed, completely cringing at his own sudden burst of romantic creativity.
Dancing in the Showers
Meanwhile, across the city in his luxurious penthouse, Kook pulled his phone away from his face, his deep, rumbling laughter filling the room. He stared at Tae's message, a wide, boyish grin splitting his handsome face. He had absolutely not expected his usually shy secretary to counter his cheesiness with such an adorable nickname.
Overwhelmed with pure, explosive happiness, the powerful billionaire CEO literally began to dance and jump his way across the hardwood floor, fist-pumping the air as he headed into the master bathroom. He turned on the water, stepped into the steaming spray, and began to loudly sing his favorite love songs at the top of his lungs, completely captivated by the boy.
Back in his modest bedroom, Tae was still sitting on the edge of his mattress, burying his face in his hands and desperately shaking his head. He was so intensely embarrassed by his own message he felt like melting into the floorboards.
"Argghhhhh! How on earth am I supposed to face him at the office today?!" Tae whined, throwing his head back. "TaeTae... you are seriously not thinking properly anymore. Ackkkk... huhuhu, I literally hate myself right now! How could I let something so embarrassing slip out..."
Realizing the clock was ticking, Tae finally dragged himself into the shower, though his mind remained completely trapped in a loop, frantically trying to draft a plan on how to look his boss in the eye later that morning.
Parallels and Promises
While Tae was suffering from his cute inner crisis, another secret conversation was taking place across town. Yoongi and Jimin were currently curled up in their respective beds, furiously exchanging late-night texts of their own.
[From: Yoggie]
Good morning, Minnie.
[To: Yoggie]
Good morning to you too, Yoggie.
Minnie and Yoggie. It had officially become their private, deeply cherished endearments for one another. But as Jimin typed out his next message, his expression turned slightly anxious.
