The Hunters Weakness [1] Theo Raeken

Chapter Twelve:

Austin and Jenna prepared Logan and Josie for their last chance to get Theo Raeken, Logan decided to make an excuse up to his parents about Khloe so she could do what she does best. Protecting Theo. Logan wasn't against it in fact  he wanted her to protect him. He wanted her to protect them all. 

Logan could tell her parents didn't believe a single word he told them about Khloe but to be honest he didn't give a crap. He didn't care about the stupid legacy. He didn't care about the supernatural. He just wanted to make sure every last one was safe. Khloe seemed to be doing a good job at that considering she's the best shooter. 

"We're heading out" Logan mentions knocking onto Khloe's bedroom door "Without me?" she asks "I didn't think you'd want to be involved" Logan tells her "We're going after Raeken" he adds "What! I mean why wouldn't I want to be involved?" She lies clearly knowing Logan already knew the truth. 

"Cut the act! Look you're the best shooter out of all of us so make it count" he says giving her a wink. Khloe felt confused. Was he telling her to protect Theo? She couldn't understand why Logan would do that. Would think that "Oh and little tip....don't use your arrows" he adds "Why are you helping me?" she asks him "I have my reasons" Logan tells her "Khloe if you care about him.....Make it count" he adds. 

Khloe grabbed her crossbow from the nightstand and quickly hurried down to the hunter's lounge hoping her parents weren't already in there. She watched as her brother direct her parents into the conservatory to prepare. He gave her a small smile and nodded for her to go. 

She grabbed a hold of the plain black arrows from the side. Ones without any names engraved into them. She took a deep breath and headed to her car to see her parents car already gone. She started to panic. To fear for Theo's life. She couldn't help but feel as if she was too late. 

By the time Khloe made it to Theo's, his house was already shot up. Windows smashed. Gun fire coming from inside. Khloe front flipped over Theo's fence and into his garden. She loaded her bow with the arrows she stole and fired it into the house "What the hell" she heard Josie shout as the arrow hit her in the leg. 

She fell to the floor in pain. Theo's lips formed a smile. He knew Khloe came to his rescue. He could smell her scent. He could smell her fear but he could also smell her bravery. He could smell the protection coming from her. 

She sent another arrow flying into the house, smashing the cup next to her mother's hand "Quick he ran this way" she heard Logan call out. She smiled from her brother's help. She sighed in relief as she watched her parents grab Josie and head to the car. Logan helped her but the question she should be asking is why did he help? Why was he doing any of this? Khloe walked into Theo's house hoping he'd still be alive. She placed her fingers onto the powder that smothered the bullets 'Wolfsbane' she mumbled to herself. She headed up the stairs and checked the rooms. 

"Why did you do that? and before you lie....I can hear your heartbeat!" Theo blurts out appearing from the side. Khloe let out a breath she didn't realise she'd been holding and said "Are you hurt?" "No you got here just in time" he says "Now why did you save me?" he adds "Because I wanted to" Khloe blurts out. 

"Do you want to know what I think?" he says as he walks closer towards her. He could hear her heart beat faster "I think you like me" he adds. Her eyes locked onto his. She could feel his fingers trace up her arms causing a tingling feeling "Don't be ridiculous" she mumbled. Theo gripped his hands onto her waist pulling her body closer to his "I think you want me as much as I want you" he mutters tracing his fingers around her stomach "Even if I did feel something for you. You want me to give up my life for you?" she answers.

"No but I think you would" he tells her pressing his body against hers "God y-you drive me c-crazy" she stutters "I think you like the fact I drive you crazy" he said before pushing her onto the bed and smashing his lips to hers. What was this guy doing to her? She'd come to realise that Theo Raeken was her weakness. 

Later that night Khloe woke up lying next to Theo. She smiled at the thought of him. She smiled at the fact he held her close. She never wanted this moment to end but she knew she needed to get back to reality. She gently moved his arm away from her side and slipped out of bed without waking him. 

"Where the hell were you?" Khloe's mother shouts the second she walks through the front door "at the hospital where Logan told you I would be" Khloe answers "I don't believe you" her father blurts out "Are you doubting my loyalty?" she snaps.

"Your sister nearly died" her father yells "Oh please....she got shot in the leg" Khloe yells back instantly regretting it! She saw Logan's facial expression change 'I'll sort it' he mouthed "Hold on! How'd you know your sister got shot in the leg?" her mother questions. She didn't know how to answer. She just froze until Logan blurted out "I told her what happened" she let out a small breath she held onto and gave Logan's hand a squeeze so he knew she was grateful for his help. 

She felt her phone vibrate inside her pocket "Am I off the hook?" she asked her parents. Her father nodded in return "So can I be excused?" she added seeing her mother nod in return. Khloe didn't know what to do. She didn't want to lie to them but she didn't want to betray Theo. She knew what she wanted 'Why do you always leave? x-T' the text read. She smiled 'Because it's the right thing to do x-K' 

'Maybe I don't want you to do the right thing x-T' 'Maybe you're the only thing right in my life at the moment but I have to face reality x-K' 'Screw reality.....Just live in the moment x-T' 'I can't because if I do everything becomes real. I can't do anything until I figure out if Logan's on my side x-K' 'Then I'll wait....I'll wait for as long as it takes for you x-T' Khloe let out a small tear as she typed her last message. She regretted hitting send 'You might never have me x-K' 

Khloe knocked onto Logan's door and waited for an answer "Everything okay?" he asked as he opened the door "Can I come in?" He gave her a nod and moved to the side allowing her inside "I wanted to thank you for covering for me but I also wanted to know why you did it? I mean you know I'm protecting them and you haven't outed me" she questions him "Because I saw the way you look at him and because I think you have a good reason to protect them just like I have a good reason to protect someone too" Logan lets slip. "What do you mean?" Khloe says "I mean you're not the first hunter to jump into a werewolves bed" he confesses "You've slept with a werewolf?" she asks "I'm currently dating a werewolf" Logan tells her "It's not a crime okay. If Theo's what you want then you should go for it" he adds. Khloe knew her brother was right. She just felt scared.
