Emma

I walked back into my room, where my best friend Olivia was sitting on my bed.

"You look amazing, Em. I think it's gonna go great."

"Thanks, Liv." I said, sitting down next to her. "It just sucks that I have to get relocated all the time. I mean, I'll be in Dallas two weeks from now. I just can't afford to live in California any longer."

"Don't think about that. Just think about the moment. You've been so involved with work, it's time for you to have a little time for play. Plus I don't like thinking about the fact that you're leaving me."

"I promise I'll try to have some fun tonight." I said.

And that's exactly what I did.

There I was, sitting across the table from a super interesting guy at one of San Fransisco's fanciest restaurants.

His name was Ethan, and he was one of the funniest people I've ever met. And damn, he could clean up nice.

He was the first baseman for the San Fransisco Giants, and now that I think about it, I recognize his name.

We had a great time over dinner and drinks, and we ended up walking the streets of San Fransisco together. Just talking, and enjoying our little date.

I remembered what Olivia said about me being all work and no play, and how I need to let loose a little.

So, when Ethan invited me back to his place for a glass of wine, I said yes.

We were sitting on his couch, a fire in the fireplace, each of us with a glass of red wine in our hands.

"So, you're a photographer?" He asked.

"Yeah. I mean, kind of. I'm still trying to get my career jump started."

"That's really cool. You know, you're young. Don't worry too much about having it all figured out."

"I mean, I'm 23 now. And I haven't made nearly what I need to afford living here anymore, so I'm moving to Texas in two weeks. I've already relocated from Los Angeles. But it's not only a money thing. I'm not really sure I want to be tied down to one place for too long."

"I've been to Texas before. Sometimes my team does spring training there."

"If you're ever in Dallas, I guess you know who to call." I flirted. Ethan took a sip of his wine.

"I'll call you if I'm in Texas in general. I had a really great time with you tonight, and I wish this doesn't have to be the last time."

I set my wine glass down on the coffee table, next to Ethan's, and then I smiled at him. "Well, why don't we make tonight count?"

-

"Yeah, that's it. Fuck yes."

There I was, riding Ethan like he was a bronco. We hadn't even moved from the couch. But frankly Olivia gave me good advice. I needed to let loose, and damn if I didn't.

"Is that good, baby?"

"Ugh. So good." I said, leaning my head back. Ethan took the opportunity to flip us around so that he could effectively pound into me, and soon I was screaming his name over and over and over again until the bubble bursted and my high came pouring down like a rainstorm.

Ethan was still going for a solid two minutes until he finally came, sending me back over the edge with him.

It was actually quite funny because he fell off of the couch after he pulled out, and somehow I ended up on top of him.

We both laughed about it before I got up to get dressed. My panties ended up draped over the television somehow, so I took them along wit the rest of my clothes and I headed to the bathroom.

After I went pee, got dressed and freshened upC I walked back into the living room where Ethan was sitting on his couch. He had a pair of shorts on, but no shirt. God, I could do that all over again.

He was good.

Really good.

"Are you sure we can't do this again? I mean, I know you're moving in two weeks, but I'm having such a good time with you right now."

I smiled. "I told you if you're ever in Dallas."

He leaned closer. "And if you're ever back here in San Fran."

And then he kissed me. Not a sexual kiss. Not a friendly kiss. A romantic kiss. Something you can't explain. You just know you've dreamt of the feeling you get from it.

I went home that night with a smile on my face. Liv was waiting in the kitchen for me. We always waited up for each other. I was gonna miss having her as a roommate.

"How was it?" She asked as I sat down at the counter.

"It was amazing. He was so funny, and nice, and damn if you weren't right about me needing a little time for play."

"I'm glad you had fun. You deserve it, missy."

"Thanks, Liv. I gave him my number, but I warned him that I'm moving very soon."

"And what did he say about that?"

"Well, I told him that if he's ever in Dallas, and he said the same for me ever being back in San Fransisco."

"That's a good sign."

"Liv, if I can't even commit to a city, how am I ever supposed to commit to a guy?"

"You'll find someone who will finally make you want to stay."

Two months later

I didn't forget about Ethan. In fact, we went out again before I moved. It was fun, but we both knew we'd most likely never see each other again.

That was until one day when I came home from a family photoshoot session that I shot, when I saw it on the news.

"Ethan Dolan Gets Traded to the Texas Rangers In 16 Million Dollar Deal."

"Damn." I said out loud, a huge smile growing onto my lips.

Sure enough, I got a call two weeks later.
