A/N: I know this isn't ethma, but I wanted to make a preview of my Grayson book that's on my other account.

(It's a spin off to Younger with Grayson's love story)

Alexandria

You usually don't know it, but every decision you make leads to something bigger. If you drink coffee one morning, or if you turn left instead of right when you're driving.

I sat in a different seat in my English class.

There was a reason, and it was because I woke up late and had to rush there, and there were only two seats left. But someone else was late too, and it just so happened to be Grayson. The only seat left was the one next to mine.

He got there after me, and sat down in a hurried manner. "Hey, what did I miss?" He asked.

"I don't know. I just got here two minutes ago."

"Oh. Thanks anyway."

"Yeah. No problem."

"You're familiar." He said. Luckily we were in the back of the lecture hall, so we weren't gonna get in trouble for talking.

I glanced at him, and knew I've seen him somewhere. I just don't know where. I know I saw him in the library, but I've seen him before that too. I feel like I know him from somewhere.

"Yeah. I know I've seen you somewhere." I said. We both laughed.

"I'm Grayson." He said. Grayson. It was ringing a bell, but I just didn't know which one.

"Alexandria." I said.

He sighed. "I'm just gonna call you Alex. It's easier."

I giggled. "No one's ever called me Alex before."

"Well, what do they call you?"

"Ali."

He furrowed his eyebrows. "You don't seem like an Ali. I'm gonna call you Alex."

"Okay. Whatever you say, Grayson."

"So, what's your story? Why were you late?"

"My alarm didn't go off this morning."

"Ahh. The old alarm not going off. That does the trick."

"What about you?"

He sighed again. "I was helping my brother with his two year old. She caught strep throat, and she hasn't been feeling good for a few days, so I was up late at my brother's house."

"Sounds rough. I hope she feels better soon."

He smiled. "Thanks. She's so cute, and I love her to death, but damn that kid cries too much when she's sick."

I laughed. "Sounds like you're close to her."

"Yeah. My whole family is really close. My brother is actually my twin, so I'm extra close to him. Tenley is the only grandchild so far, so she's kind of the star of the show in our family right now."

"Yeah? She sounds adorable."

"She is." He said, pulling his phone out of his pocket. "Wanna see her?"

"Sure."

He showed me a picture of him and his twin brother, the little girl in the middle. "Wow. She's adorable. And that's your twin brother?"

"Yeah. That's Ethan. We're identical, but I don't think we look alike."

They didn't. They had different haircuts, and Ethan was a tad paler than Grayson. But they did look like brothers.

"Not really. Different haircuts make it way easier to tell."

"Yeah. Do you have any siblings?"

"Nope. It's just me."

"Ah. I have Ethan, and then my older sister Cameron. What's it like being an only child?"

"Boring."

He laughed. "At least you never had to fight your twin brother for the bathroom."

"Yeah. I always told myself I'm gonna have at least two kids so they don't get lonely."

"Me too. I can't imagine not having my siblings, so my kids will have siblings."

I glanced at the professor who was going on his lecture, and then I looked back at Grayson. "Do you think we could sneak out of here?"

"Thank God. You just read my mind."

And that was the start. We immediately had a connection. Even as friends. But I knew he was special.

We actually went to eat at a breakfast place off campus, and we sat there and talked for a couple hours. Both of us kept ordering more coffee so we could keep sitting there.

He was really interesting. In the last few years, I haven't been able to simply sit down and talk to a guy just to talk. I liked talking with Grayson. I could've sat there forever just talking, and I didn't even mind. Before I was just focused on the physical aspect with guys, but I genuinely wanted to get to know Grayson.

"So, are you dating anybody?" He asked.

"Not really. I'm done with all the casual stuff. I'm kind of holding off for something real. I actually just told my best friend Kacey that the next guy I date is either gonna be for a long time, or he's gonna be the one."

"That's actually how I feel too. I mean, my brother found his soulmate in high school, but she had to move away because of her parents' divorce. Ethan's still waiting for her to come home and it's been almost four years. I just want to find someone who I love that much. That I'd wait forever for like Ethan is for Emma. He loves her that much."

"Wow. I hope she comes back for him."

"I honestly think she will as soon as she can. They were probably the most in love couple I've ever seen besides my parents. Ethan misses her like hell, and honestly I miss her too because she was one of my best friends senior year, and I want Ethan to be happy again."

"See? That's what I want. Someone that cares that much for me. I feel like I've wasted so much time on guys that weren't worth it. I want to find the one that is."

Grayson smiled, taking a sip of his coffee. "Do you wanna go to a movie with me on Friday? They're doing a showing of West Side Story, and I'm a bit of a sucker for a musical."

I felt my heart beat a little bit faster. That was my favorite movie. "You're in luck." I said. "That's actually my favorite movie."

"Is that a yes?"

"It's a yes."

He raised his arms in victory. "Yes! It's a date."

I smiled. For the first time I was actually looking forward to going out with someone. I'd only known him for a few hours thus far, but I was hoping to learn more about him. I hoped he'd finally be someone who was worth it.
