Emma
Even the car ride to Boston was super fun. Since we live in Vermont, it was about three hours away, but with good music and conversation, it felt like I didn't take anytime at all.
Time flies when you're having fun.
I've known Ethan basically my whole life, and he's always been a little protective. Especially over Cameron and I. Grayson has too, but since Ethan was three years older, he had that sense of protectiveness an older sibling/friend would have.
That being said, I always knew I was completely safe with Ethan because I knew that he'd do anything to protect me. I was always comfortable with him.
Cameron is convinced that Ethan and I are gonna get married someday, but I'm choosing to live in the now. In the moment. I'm just hoping for a great day today.
We stopped for lunch on the way there, at this little mom and pop place that sold soup and sandwiches. The soup was perfect for warming us up in the cold December weather. Our bellies were full and warm when we got back in the car and continued our trip to Boston.
The game was really fun. Hockey was always my favorite, and I think that's part of the reason Ethan brought me along. My favorite part of the whole day so far was before we went in to the game, Ethan gave me his old Bruins' jersey that didn't fit him anymore, and so I had a jersey to wear. Of course Ethan had a newer one that actually fit him, but I thought it was cool that we kind of matched.
About halfway through the game, Ethan and I got weather alerts on our phones saying there was a huge ice storm coming through. It wouldn't be safe for us to drive all the way home tonight.
"We're gonna have to get a hotel." Ethan said. "Is that okay with you?"
I nodded. "Yeah. That's fine."
"You should let your parents know." Ethan said. This was the protectiveness in him. I smiled and nodded before I dialed my dad's phone number.
"Hey, Emma. What's up?" My dad said as he answered the phone.
"Hey, Dad. There's a really bad ice storm headed our way, and it's not safe to drive back to Vermont tonight, so Ethan and I are gonna get a hotel."
"Okay. Thanks for letting me know. Stay safe, and tell Ethan I said thank you for keeping you safe."
"Okay, dad. See you probably tomorrow night. I love you."
"I love you too, sweetie. I hope you're having fun with Ethan."
"Thanks, Dad. Bye."
"Bye, Emma."
I put my phone down, and when I glanced at Ethan, he was already looking at me.
"My dad told me to tell you he said thanks for keeping me safe."
Ethan put his arm around my shoulder, pulling me closer. "I'll always keep you safe, Emma."
I leaned my head on his chest. I could feel my own heart racing at Ethan's touch, and I could hear his heartbeat too. It was also racing.
"Emma, listen." He said. I lifted my head off of his chest to look at him. "I really enjoyed spending the day with you, and honestly I have to admit that I see you in a totally different light than how I saw you when I was in high school. Back then I kind of saw you as Cam's best friend. That's just how I always saw you. Now it's like something switched in my mind, and suddenly I feel all of these new found feelings that I can't really describe, but what I can say is that I really like you, Emma. A lot. You've grown so much since I last saw you, and you're different than before, and I really admire you. I want you to be my girlfriend."
I smiled, standing on my tiptoes to kiss him for the first time. The moment I've been waiting and wishing for since I met Ethan.
And it was perfect. His lips were soft, and warm, and the way his arms wrapped around me, and the feel of his hair between my fingers made it feel magical. I never wanted it to stop, and I was sure it wouldn't until I ran out of air. He was addicting, and tasted sweet. It was amazing enough to have been worth the wait.
"I'll be your girlfriend." I said as our foreheads pressed together. "I've liked you for a really long time, Ethan." I said.
"Let's walk back to our seats and watch the rest of the game, and then we can head over to the hotel, okay?"
I smiled, lacing my hand with his. "Okay."
-
Ethan and I hailed a cab to the nearest hotel, and he checked us in before we headed to the gift shop.
"We're gonna need some comfy clothes to sleep in." He said. He was right. Jeans and a hockey jersey weren't exactly pajamas.
So, we both got a pair of sweats, and a t-shirt. Ethan also had a sweatshirt he brought with him just in case, and after we had our clothes, we went up to our room.
As soon as the door was shut, his lips were on mine. I wasn't complaining. I loved that he was my boyfriend now. And I couldn't wait to tell Cameron everything.
I moaned into the kiss as his tongue slipped into my mouth, and Ethan lifted me up so my legs wrapped around his waist.
He carried me to the bed, our lips never detaching as he laid me down, hovering over me as his lips went to my jaw, and then his tongue ran from my collarbone to the spot under my ear.
"Ethan?" I asked. He lifted his head up.
"What's wrong?"
"Nothing's wrong. I just need to tell you something."
"Go ahead."
"I've never had sex before."
"Emma, that's okay. We don't have to if you don't want to."
"No, I want to. I just thought you should know."
He gave me a serious look. "Are you completely sure you want to? This is kind of a big deal for you. You know, having your first time?"
"I'm completely sure. I know how much you care about me, and I've always trusted you completely. I feel so safe with you, and there's no one else I'd want my first time to be with. I promise I'm ready."
He smiled, giving me a long kiss on the lips before he cupped my face in his hand. "I promise I'll make it perfect for you, Em."
I nodded, his lips landing on mine once again. "Okay." I whispered.
