(Y/N's POV)
Historia knelt down infront of the crown, her face wearing a solemn expression and closed eyes as the man lowered it on her head. She was with the higher ups, infront of the palace, on a 5 meter elevated wooden platform with the banner of the walls. All around, a huge mass of military and non military people were silent around it.
When it was put on her blond hair, the crowd erupted into cheers and applauds. The commanders of the different branches bowed down to the new queen. I was standing in the front of the crowd, clapping with the rest of the gang. I could hear sparks of admiration for the girl who killed Rod's titan and with witnesses from the Orvud district.
With a bit of help from the shadows, but they don't need to know that.
She stood straight on the edge of the platform, her white dress flowing behind her with the wind. She saluted to the crowd and it went wild, reporters taking notes and sketch pads out. I looked up at her, she looked so serious, nothing like the sweet carefree girl she was yesterday.
After that, Levi, Hange Erwin and Moblit had some stuff to discuss and I didn't really want to participate. Instead I wanted to spend as much time with Historia before we had to go back to Trost. So I went with them in the halls of the palace, in our formal long coat uniform jackets, following Historia who abruptly started to rip off her cloak and shoes.
"What's with the sudden anger?" I asked concerned.
"I'm going to it." she declared.
"Do what?" I pushed.
"I think you twin knows what I'm talking about." she said shooting a determined glare up at my brother who was between her and me.
He scrunched his eyebrows in confusion, but then his face suddenly bore an alarming expression.
"You mean that? You're really going to do it?!" he said panicking a bit.
"You're the one who said I should do it!" she replied.
"Do what?!" I asked confused.
"Reeves final request, to punch the corporal." explained Eren, a worried look on his face.
I turned away and smiled on the inside. This Reeves knew how to have fun. Shame I never got to meet him... I kept a flat face despite my enthusiasm.
"You should also say, 'I'm queen what are you going to do about it?'" said Mikasa behind us.
"Damn it Mikasa! You're not helping!" exclaimed Eren.
"Even better: 'I'm queen now what are you going to about it you short clean freak'." I proposed.
"Is nobody concerned about what he might do to us?!" asked Eren.
"Nope." Jean, Connie, Sasha and Mikasa said simultaneously.
"He can always try to kill me, doubt he'll manage though..." I said flatly.
Eren sighed in exasperation and we kept pushing through the hall, Historia was sweating a bit but I could see it in her eyes that she something to prove by doing this.
When we found the captain, he was alone waiting infront of the briefing room, he seemed a bit depressed because of something but when he saw us, he got off the wall and faced us. We all looked at Historia expectantly as she walked towards him. She took a deep breath and yelled some sort of savage war cry then threw a solid punch in his arm.
I cleared my throat to stop myself from laughing, Armin and Eren had looks of disbelief on their faces, Mikasa was flat-faced but I could tell she was enjoying this and Jean, Connie and Sasha were grinning in excitement.
"What about that! Y-you little clean freak! I'm your queen now! Whaddaya going to do about that!?" she said.
I expected him to say something snobbish or make some sarcastic remark, but instead he did something that almost made me choke. He smiled. Captain Levi goddamn smiled.
It wasn't anything big or too joyful, but it was enough to silence us and force our faces into shocked expression.
"Thanks guys." he said.
"You hear that guys?" I started, smiling like there's no tomorrow.
I pushed past Historia and Eren, walked besides our captain and slung my arm on his shoulders and leaned on him, he turned his face to face me with a confused expression on his face. The cadets and the queen were now staring at me with the same looks of incredulity.
"The captain appreciates us." I smiled, my left elbow on his shoulder and left hand in his hair.
"If you want to keep that hand, you will get off me, second in command Yeager." he said, with an almost undetectable tone of amusement.
"You won't do that, because you know you love us. Besides, how can I protect you and the squad if I'm missing a hand?" I said smirking cheekily.
"Tch. You got me there." he smiled again.
The whole crew gasped again.
"(Y/N) and Captain smiling at the same time?! Is the world ending or something?" shouted Jean, clutching his head.
We stared at him for a minute, his outburst went silent, and we all started laughing uncontrollably, even Levi and his laugh was crystal clear for someone who always acts so depressed.
I'm pretty I wrote this in a way that for now, Jean, Connie, Historia and Sasha never saw (Y/N) smile. Sorry if I made a mistake somewhere...
