(Eren's POV)
We were riding straight for my old home, our hometown, at full speed on our horses and when we were in range of the wall, Commander Erwin made us switch to 3DMG. We shot our grappling hooks towards Wall Maria, pushed off our horses and propelled ourselves towards the wall. Except for my sister who nimbly landed on top of the wall then began to ran towards the outer gate, where I would have to plug the hole.
My feet hit the wall shortly before her and then I looked at the city. It was in shambles, I hadn't remembered it like this, it was much worse then I remembered. I recognised the market where we used to run around that was now nothing but cracked wood and rubble, the houses and churches were in shambles, stone foundations were crushed, and the ruins were splattered with blood that never washed away. But the worst of all was that there wasn't a single soul in the whole district, it was frighteningly silent as if the dead were haunting it from the shadows.
To think that these were the streets where we used to run around, talk and play without a care in the world never imagining that this kind of destruction would ever happen.
"Oi Eren! Don't stop! Keep moving!" urged Levi's voice behind me.
He ran past me, followed by my sister who grabbed my wrist. They were all hooded and just that little contact snapped me back to my senses.
"Yes sir!" I shouted, following them towards the breach.
We went across the wall swiftly, Hange and Levi up ahead, with Mikasa, (Y/N), Jean, Connie, Sasha, Moblit and me close behind them and some of the newer recruits behind us. When we finally made it to the gap in the wall. I heard Hange talk suspiciously about the lack of titans. But I was only focused on my mission. Seal the outer wall.
I can do this. No. We can do this, together. Because from the moment we were born, there was something special about us. We're free.
My 3DMG hooks lodged themselves firmly to the edge of the wall and when I was right on top of the breach, I bit down hard on my thumb, my titan form immediately forming around me. Once I was inside the gap, I expanded my hardening until I plugged the hole and ripped my human body out of the nape. Mikasa grabbed me and brought me back to the wall where the others were.
"Any titans in sight?" I asked.
"No, the breach?" replied Hange.
"Sealed tight!" confirmed Moblit looking over the edge.
I was finally satisfied. Now now more fucking titans will be able to enter.
"Is your gear functioning?" my sister asked, adjusting her gloves.
"Yes but I lost my cape in the titan."
"Take mine." Mikasa said throwing hers on my head.
I thanked her then looked at the wall that was now filled with half a titan body and a lot of hardened crystal.
"Were not done yet. Unless Reiner and Bertholdt are dead this exposition is not over yet. Got that?" hissed Captain Levi.
"Of course!" I replied.
Then a line of smoke from the flare flew upwards from where Erwin was stationed.
"Everybody, scatter on the walls and wait for further instructions!" ordered Hange.
We looked at the other scouts who were hitting the surface of the walls with their blades and feet. That's when suddenly one of them shouted:
"Here! It's hollow here."
The second he said that, the Captain was already running towards him, blades drawn. (Y/N) and Mikasa took defensive positions, expecting the worst.
And sure enough, that asshole traitor Reiner emerged from the wall and after stabbing the guy that found him, he tried to escape but Levi was already on him, plunging his blade through his neck. But for some reason, Reiner's body just convulsed but he was still very much alive.
What the fuck!?
"Captain!" exclaimed Armin who was right next to him.
"Dammit! I was so fucking close! Why didn't he die!?" the corporal yelled frustrated at himself, as Reiner's transforming body hit the ground.
In the corner of my eye I saw (Y/N) who seemed to be deep in thought, her eyes darkening like she was trying to remember something.
But right after the familiar gold lightning that flashed around the Armored Titan, we heard Erwin yell for cover. We turned our heads in his direction and saw a huge rock flying towards him in a high arc. But it missed and hit the wall below him instead. And I looked further away and saw the Beast titan with a whole titan army behind him.
