(3rd POV)

One year has past since the successful expedition do Shiganshina, the queen had put her energy into the reconstruction of villages, cities and roads that have been destroyed inside Wall Maria. And when the last titan was killed and last house rebuild months ago, the refugees inside Wall Rose were allowed to leave to go back to their old lives.

As far as Shiganshina goes, the district has taken the most damage, but with the help of Eren, Mikasa and Armin, they managed to rebuild it close to what it was before. And (Y/N) went to the city on her own to ensure that there was no titans and no trace of Reiner, Bertholdt or Zeke. And when she gave the all-clear, the inhabitants of the city were allowed to settle back down.

Now, spring was here, and it was time for the Survey Corp to go back outside Wall Maria after 6 years. They decided to only send the veterans, so Floch was in charge of the newer recruits. For Levi and Hange, it was a trip down the memory lane.

"Is it like you remembered it?" the assassin asked her captain.

"Well there are definitely less titans..." he answered.

True enough, most of the titans that used to idle outside the walls, were killed inside Wall Maria, making their trip look like a walk in the park. They rode for the whole morning, the cadets taking in the outside world bit by bit. But suddenly a flare shot in the sky.

"A titan!" exclaimed Hange.

(Y/N) jumped off her horse and ran towards the source of the flare. She found Sasha and Connie who waved her over. In front of them was a slug like titan, limbs so weak it couldn't even get up.

"How long has it been moving like that?" asked Connie.

"Poor thing must have been crawling like that to get to the walls." said Hange coming over with a hint of pity in her voice.

"Should we kill it?" asked Levi pulling his blades out.

"No, let's just leave it. Not like it can hurt anyone even if it wanted to." the assassin replied putting a hand on his hand.

He put his blades back and after jumping back on their horses, they pushed forwards, not even looking back at the titan as it relentlessly kept crawling towards the walls. They kept riding, not stopping to once. Their goal was within their reach with the titans practically gone and they were going to get there.

Hours later, they got to a high ledge, a wall in the sand, that reminded Eren of the nightmares he once constantly got of the place where the Eldians would be transformed into titans.

"This is the place, I'm sure of it. And if I remember well, right above the ledge, is the sea." Eren told his comrades.

A small spark of excitement flashed in Armin's eyes as the rode up the sand dunes and onto the grassy ledge. And there is was. The ocean.

"My god... we made it... it's the sea..." Armin mumbled.

They ran down to the beach, their horses following them. They walked on the sand, they boots sinking slightly with each step. They tied the horses and they walked towards the ocean slowly. It was crystal clear, the light of the high sun making little shimmers of gold dance on the lapping water.

"Is this what you were hoping for?" (Y/N) asked the blond boy.

"That and more..." he said, his eyes wide and a huge grin on his face.

The assassin immediately striped to her biker shorts and sports bra and ran into the water. The others just stared at her in both shock and curiosity.
