Mykapo: 11 BBY
"Profundity"
Ryn Alera

Ryn stood in the ship's command center alongside Jess and Admiral Raddus. Lieutenant Reese was close by, monitoring their approach to Mykapo. It had only been two months since their time on Naboo, and yet it felt as though years had passed.

"Who exactly are we meeting here?" Jess asked.

"An old friend of mine who wants to form his own cell," Admiral Raddus replied. "Commander Jun Sato. He's one of the best commanders in the galaxy."

"We're helping him start his cell?" Ryn asked.

Raddus nodded. "We'll be position him and his people soon. First, they'll be needing ships and supplies."

"And people," Lieutenant Reese added. "Sato only has a few followers, not enough to form a squadron."

"What about the new recruits from Naboo?" Ryn leaned over the holotable, thinking. "Most of them don't have anywhere to go yet."

"I thought they were staying on Yavin 4," Reese objected.

"We can let them decide after we group with Sato," Admiral Raddus said, interrupting them before either could say more. "Lieutenant, inform Commander Sato of our arrival." Reese dipped his head curtly and darted away. "We'll need to secure ships and squadron members for Sato first thing," Raddus continued.

"What do you need us to do, Admiral?" Ryn asked.

"I will contact our people on Kuat and see about any possible ships they have. As for recruits," Raddus raised a hand to his chin thoughtfully. "I think  I have an idea." He pressed a few buttons on the holotable and a list of names appeared above it. "These are all Rebel sympathizers who have been captured by the Empire. A large number of them are held in the Naraka Prison and the Spire."

"We might be able to stage a rescue mission for the Naraka prisoners, but the Spire is dangerous," Jess replied. "It's one of the most heavily guarded prisons out there. It would take a miracle to get in and getting out will be even harder."

"Then we'll need someone who we know is skilled at sneaking into such places. General Alera, take Feylin and organize a rescue mission for the Rebels on Naraka. Commander Jess, contact Captain Andor and leave for the Spire as soon as you can," the Admiral ordered. Ryn glanced at Jess. She could sense the immediate tension that ebbed from him, but his face didn't show it.

"We'll get it done," he promised.

"I will inform Commander Sato as soon as he docks with us. We'll be leaving the system soon. I'll send you rendezvous coordinates when we have them." Admiral Raddus smiled gratefully at them.

Ryn fell in step with Jess as they left the bridge. "There's always something to be done," she said with half a laugh.

Jess shook his head, gritting his teeth. "At least he gave you and Feylin Naraka. I don't doubt that you'd be able to infiltrate the Spire, but I'm glad all the same."

Ryn tilted her head in acknowledgement. "You know more about the Spire than anyone else would, I imagine. You, Cassian, and K should take the Survivor. With the new signature scrambler K added, it will get you to Stygeon Prime easier than anything else."

"What about you and Feylin?" Jess raised an eyebrow.

"The Remnant is still a part of our squadron. We'll take it."

"I thought Admiral Raddus said there was another crew to fly it."

"There was but they left and joined General Dodonna's cell. They chose to leave the Remnant behind so now it just sits around until needed," Ryn explained.
