Yavin 4: 12 BBY
Medical Facility
Feylin Ryles

Feylin set Ryn's hand down gently as she drifted back to sleep. She cast a nervous gaze at the monitor next to Ryn. Her heartbeat remained steady. Arwen returned with a shot of some kind. A few of the other doctors were carrying scanners. They swiped them over Ryn's body, then back away.

Arwen gently injected the liquid from her syringe into Ryn's arm, then let out a sigh. "That was...unexpected."

"Will she be ok now?" Feylin asked.

"I'm sure she will be. This medicine should help start healing inside her."

"Why was she coughing blood?"

"She has a few cracked ribs and her throat was raw. We'll do what we can to make it stop or keep it from worsening." Arwen leaned over Ryn, brushing a hand across her forehead. "I think Cassian and K2 are back already. You should go check."

Feylin crossed her arms and raised an eyebrow. "You just want to get rid of me."

Arwen smiled. "Yes, for right now."

"All right but I'll be back as soon as Jess is here."

Arwen rolled her eyes. "Help us all when he gets here."

Feylin stood and exited the medical center. Cassian's U-wing was in the landing zone outside. She spotted K2 beside the ship. "K, where's Cassian?" Feylin called as she approached.

"He is delivering our report to General Draven," the droid replied.

"How was the mission?"

"Uneventful on my part. I was told to wait with the ship," K huffed.

"Is there something you'd rather be doing?" Feylin asked.

"I would like to be in the action," K replied. "I want a blaster."

"I'm sure we can get you one."

"Not likely. General Draven won't trust me with one, reprogrammed or not," K scoffed. Feylin bit her lip, thinking. "There's Cassian, if you wanted to talk to him." He pointed across the stone landing zone where Cassian had appeared outside of the base.

"Thanks, K!" Feylin called as she scrambled off. "Hey, how was your mission?" She asked, reaching Cassian.

He simply shrugged and fell in step beside her. "It was like General Draven described it. I snuck into the academy, I stole the codes Draven wanted, broke out of the academy, and K flew us home."

Feylin raised her eyebrows, slightly taken aback. "There weren't any setbacks? You weren't discovered or anything?"

"If I was discovered, they would've tried to capture me, don't you think?"

Feylin halted and crossed her arms. "Look, if you don't want to talk to me, just say so."

"What are you talking about? Of course I want to talk to you," Cassian replied, rolling his eyes.

"Really? You're acting different. You used to be excited and eager to talk about any assignment you had, no matter how uneventful. Now, suddenly, you don't want to talk about it at all?"

Cassian pinched the bridge of his nose and shook his head. "It's got nothing to do with you. Just drop it."

"Fine." Feylin uncrossed her arms and they started walking again.

"How's Ryn?" Cassian asked finally.

"Better. She woke up for a few minutes. She's sleeping again now."
