"Hey look, Mr. Speed is back, " you heard as the three of you reached the bottom of the stairs.
"Shut it, Thayer, you're just jealous," Paul said, resulting in the other men in the room to laugh.
Evan let out an ear-splitting scream as a blonde hair man came around the corner, holding a beer, causing Paul to wince and pull his face away from the kid.
"ERIC!!!, DADDY, DOWN!!!" Evan kicked his feet to get down to get to the other man
"Okay, okay, Go get your uncle, "Paul said, putting Evan on the ground, smiling as his son walked over to Eric.
"Evan, my man, how are you?" Eric asked, spinning the boy around the room.
You looked around the room feeling a little nervous, being in a place with three men you didn't know, that had caught you and Paul in a very awkward situation. You went to take a seat on the couch when you felt Paul pull to the chair he was sitting in to take a seat on his lap.
"So now that everyone is fully dressed, after the RUDE interruption, Y/N let me introduce you to the knuckleheads I call my friends and as you can see, my son calls uncle. There are Tommy, the band's road manager, Bruce, the band's guitar player, and the oversize two-year-old over there is Eric." Paul said.
Eric looked up from where he was playing with Evan and stuck his tongue out at Paul, causing you to burst out laughing.
"Don't worry Y/N, Paul hasn't shut up about you over the last 5 months. We know every single thing about you." Eric said
Looking down at Evan, Eric covered his ears with his hands looking at both you and Paul and whispered, "Everything" wiggling his eyebrows.
"Oh really, Paul?" You said turning to look at him as he turned a shade of pink causing everyone in the room to laugh.
The guys stayed until later in the evening, sharing different stories from life on the road and the backstage shenanigans and seeing Paul in his element. Cooking for everyone in the house and laughing and playing with Evan.
After, spending a week in the negative chaos that had surrounded the both of you in Oklahoma. A positive family dynamic you hadn't felt since your dad had died three years before.
"What did you think of the guys?" Paul asked, wrapping his arms around you in the kitchen.
"They seem great, can't wait to meet Gene," you said, turning around and wrapping your arms around Paul's neck.
"You might regret those words once you meet him, Gene can be a lot to handle," he said, smiling down at you
You leaned up, kissing him quickly before grabbing his hand and walking toward the stairs, hearing him chuckle behind you.
"Since your bandmates ruined this afternoon, I think you need to make it up to me now," you said, continuing up the stairs.
"Oh, I will make it up to you, and then some don't you worry," he said, pushing you gently into the room and locking the door.
Sleep was not on the agenda to end the busy day you both had experienced.
