The week had been a blur since you had gotten the news of your mom's accident and the arrest of your brother. Paul's team had worked hard to get as many details for the two of you before you had made the decision to go home for the week. A situation that had made things intense between the pair of you.

"Are you sure you don't want me to go with you? I can rearrange things, Evan can even come with us for the whole week." Paul asked, keeping his focus on the road ahead.

"You know Pam is not going to let you fly 3,000 miles away for a week with Evan. You're just asking for a fight. It will just be a week and then I'll be right back with you." You replied.

You laughed as Paul rolled his eyes at the mention of his ex, both of you knowing all hell would break loose if things didn't go exactly how the visitation plan said.

"Well, I just want to make sure you are safe. Your family can be intense and I don't want you to end up in your mom's condition or you to decide not to come back home." Paul replied.

The rest of the car ride stayed quiet as you were lost in thought on how the visit would go with your mom, neither of you had been in contact with the other since you had moved two months ago. The car ignition shutting off, pulled you out of your thoughts.

Paul had pulled into the airport where the band's plane was stationed. He had insisted that you took the plane instead of buying a ticket and having to worry about making sure you made it to the airport at a certain time.

"You will call me when you land and make it to the hotel?" Paul asked

"I promise that I will call, though I don't know why you booked the hotel room." You told him.

Paul pulled his sunglasses up on his forehead and stared at you for a moment before tilting his head to the side.

"Well seeing what happened to your mom in that house, I would prefer my girlfriend not to be in harm's way. Especially since she wont let me come with her for protection." He replied.

You shook your head at Paul's comment, even after months of being together it was still taking time to get used to having someone care for you as much as he seemed to without a hidden agenda. How you came to deserve someone like him was still lost on you.

"Y/N are you still with me there?" Paul asked concerned

"Yeah sorry, Just a little worried about how everything is gonna go with being around my mom" you lied.

Paul shook his head as he exited the car walking over to your side to open the door for you. Pulling your bag over your shoulder you attempted to walk to the plane, being stopped in your first step by Paul as he pulled you back to him.

"In order to go check on my mom , I kinda have to get on the plane to go to Oklahoma." You told him, titling your head to the side.

He shook his head and pulled your chin up gazing into your eyes, until you attempted to pull away feeling self conscious. Paul stopped you by placing a soft kiss to lips with a hint of urgency behind it, any control you both had was gone. He leaned his body into you causing your back to hit the passenger door. You pulled away catching his stare before nipping at his lips, watching Paul close his eyes for a moment to keep the last bit of control he had with being in a public place. Running his tongue across your bottom lip , barely giving you time to respond before taking over the kiss. Wrapping your hands in his hair keeping him as close to you before you broke for air.

Paul leaned his forehead against yours, as you tried to control your breathing before pushing him away. He grinned at you as you walked off slapping his forearm.

"See we could have more moments like that if you just let me go with you, Y/N" He chuckled behind you.

"We have those moments multiple times a day dear, there's no reason to go out of town to have them." You laughed walking up the stairs to the plane.

" Please be safe at least, so those keep happening. Y/N I love you." Paul replied.

You looked at him, seeing the concern dancing across his face. He had done everything possible to save you from the hell you were entering, only for you to fly right back to it. You knew he had the doubts that you would come back after the many times you had threatened to leave him.

"I love you too, Paul." You replied

You both waved to each other for a final time before you entered the cabin and the door was closed behind you.A you took your seat the knots built up in your stomach knowing this week could only go two ways and if being on the plane had been the kiss of death on the relationship between the two of you.

A few hours later

You were pulling into the hospital parking lot, taking a few deep breaths to prepare yourself for what kind of reaction you would get from your mother and whoever may be in the room with her. The interaction would be less than pleasant.

"Better now than never" You mumbled , as you exited the car.

Paul had made sure before you left that you had all the information on your mom's condition, as well as room number and the team of doctors working on her recovery. He didn't want you blindsided by anything as you came back to the lion's den. A smile danced across your face as you remembered all the phone calls he had made and the hours Paul had his team working to get every last detail.

You reached down into your pocket to grab the cell phone he had insisted you get, so you could call if anything got too out of hand. Pressing the speed dial number, you waited as the phone rang multiple times before the answer machine picked up.

"Just letting you know I made it safe, stopped at the hospital first and then will be going to the hotel.I hope you and E are enjoying your time, I will call later. Love you, bye"

You took a breath as you put the phone back in your pocket and walked in the room automatically feeling your stomach turn by the sight of the person sitting next to your mom.

" Hello, Y/N"
