Chapter 28: Almost

1 Year Later...

As I stand with my feet together, I lean forward and forward until I get myself to the center.

I really waited for this moment and I'm confidently gonna face this.

As the music starts, I let my body do some moves. Then I tried to glide and glide in these ice. I am letting myself enjoy the presence of the music through gliding and stroking. I am trying my best not to slide and to fall but I know that I can do it. I will not gonna fall. I'm doing the little jumps and hops and I heard the audience was amazed of what I did. As I move my arms and make a gesture on my hands, I also do the swizzling that make the crowds go insane. After that, I do the leap and hops that make the audience more amazed.

I let myself to go back at the center and the spotlight is on me. I am the center of the attraction here in Even Center.

" Let's give round of applause for Amaya R. Miranda! " The host said. I saw the audience stand and clapping their hands together. They we're really amazed of what I have shown for today.

I do the bow and left the ice area.

" Gosh! Maya! You did so good! Napakagaling mo! " Lumapit si Coach Victor sa'kin habang pumapalakpak pa.

He is my coach for this past few months. He's a gay and a professional ice skater. Nag isip ako noon nang pwedeng pagkaabalahan habang wala pa akong trabaho. At naisip kong bakit hindi na lang ako mag ice skating? Tutal marunong na rin naman ako.

I decided to join in a contest which is 'yung ngayon. Almost 9 months akong nagpaturo kay Coach Victor kung paano maging professional pagdating sa ice skating.

And then, I did it today. What I did earlier is called Ice Skating Dance Performance.

" I'm so nervous talaga nung una, Coach. Pero alam kong dapat maging confident ako. It will my affect my performance kapag pinakita kong kinakabahan ako. " We're walking papunta sa Locker room.

" Famela was good too. I think siya ang lang ang magiging kalaban mo for the gold medal. " Famela is an ice skater too. Isa siya sa mga competitors ko. 12 kaming naglaban for today. At tatlo ang mananalo, bronze medalist, silver medalist at gold medalist.

" Yeah, she's good. I've seen her performance. " Huminto ako hinarap si Coach. " Kahit hindi na ako ang gold medalist, Coach. Okay lang sa'kin. Basta it's either silver or bronze na lang ako. " Kahit papano, gusto ko pa rin namang manalo.
