"greetings and salutations" I replied. "you must be the new guy" I say.
"and you must be a committee member, here to ask my opinion" he says. Touché.
"good eye. Would you rather Disco mayhem or Oldies for old time's sake?" I ask him. he scoffs slightly.
"well... I guess I'll have to take Disco Mayhem" he says, I smile.
"what's your name?" I ask.
"James-Drake. But I tend to go by JD" he says. I write down his name.
"thank you for the vote, JD. I'm Jane, by the way" I say.
"Not a Heather, a pleasure" he says. his eyes are somewhat hypnotic.
"there's a party this Friday. Interested?" I ask. he seems to think for a moment.
"depends. Where is it?" he asks.
"old creek street, just down the road from the Mall. It'll be the house booming music filled with drunk teens and college students" I say.
"will you be there?" he asks.
"I wouldn't invite someone and not show up myself" I say. at that moment, Veronica calls me over.
"seems your friends are calling you. Till next time, Jane" he says, I smile gently.
"Till next time" I replied. I turned and walked back over to the Heather's and Veronica. All our name sheets were filled.
