JD took me home after that. He asked if I was alright and I told him I was. He said to call if I needed to talk. Honestly, I felt numb. Like what had just happened should matter more than it did. I'd known Heather since I was eight. That's almost nine years of friendship. Why didn't I care? I mean, it was shocking but...was it really that much of a deal? God...I must be crazy. Maybe I should see a psychiatrist. I was sitting at my desk trying to work through last weeks homework, something to keep what had happened off my mind. As I tried to work, I got more frustrated as I got stuck on each question. It wasn't long before I threw my textbook across the room in frustration and anger. It was then a face appeared at my window.
