We were all around 8 when we met for the first time. My parents had at that point decided to move back to town, having left to start their careers. We met when my parents hosted a housewarming party, becoming fast friends. When I started at the elementary school, they made me popular. Heather C had already started to long for everyone's attention, but I didn't mind. I liked being popular, but I also liked not being the centre of attention. her greed for attention kept me in the shadow of the spotlight, exactly where I wanted to be. it was middle school when she started to become a bully. The puberty plague had begun so it wasn't hard to find something to tease them about. thanks to our parents, we were able to avoid the pimples and sudden periods.

We didn't meet Veronica till high school. That when the Heather's became the Heather's. Quickly taking over the school. Veronica, Ram, Kurt, Martha. They'd all gone to the same schools as the rest of us, they just weren't on the radar. Ram and Kurt got popular thanks to their status as athletes. I wasn't there when Veronica joined. I was on a family trip to New York for one of my mother's fashion shows.

They'd been out of class and a teacher was harassing them about not having a hall pass. Veronica had forged them one, getting them out of trouble. She had potential and was welcomed in. I liked her, don't get me wrong. She was a breath of fresh air. Once I got back, the knowledge I'd gained from my mother on fashion was 'requested'. Soon she was fit to be a friend of the Heather's.
