"Dad's out for the night so it's all good" he said.
"where's the first aid kit?" asked.
"bathroom down the hall" he said, letting himself fall onto a black couch. I walked down the hall and had to open a few doors before finding the bathroom. I searched the mirrored cabinet and found the kit. I stopped through the kitchen and wrapped a bag of frozen peas in a cloth. I came back out. I sat next to him on the couch and pulled up his shirt.
"not exactly the time for it is it?" he asked. He smiled at the joke. I rolled my eyes and couldn't help but smile too. I dropped the cloth and peas on his stomach a little hard and he laughed at the pain.
