The sound of soles against gravel bounce off the brick walls.
Small bodies of water litter the floor, evidence to the fact that it had been raining earlier.
It's dark out, few stars decorate the black canvas above, though not accompanied by the moon, due to the fact of it being full one or two nights ago.
To most people, night time is where all activities came to an end and you start getting ready to sleep or just relax.
But for the figure in black walking down the street...
The day has only begun.
***
Friday night, a time where a lot of students toss away their uniforms and put on something more, attractive.
Girls who have pigtales and wear very tamed like clothes, change into more eye-catching materials, dressing to impress.
In other words, no more good girls.
Boys arm up in their leather jackets, dark jeans, ruffle up their hair and put on the bad boy façade that they've been working on since 8th grade.
Granted, for some it isn't a façade, but a personality, who and/or what they are.
They radiate dark and mysterious auras, attracting the naïve and desperate.
They whisper sweet lies and con all those who are naïve enough to believe them.
They bring you up, only to drop you at the peak. They break hearts and move onto their next conquest.
They make you believe in a happy ever after, but in reality all they give you is an example of the real world.
Because in reality, there are no 'happy ever afters'.
Sure there are people who say they've found true love, the person they're going to spend the rest of their lives with.
It's an easy thing to say and believe, but. In all honesty, what are the chances of actually staying together. Because anything can happen, one day you're hopelessly in love, but the next you're not.
Love is a complicated thing, you can't control it, it controls you.
Everyone experiences it in a different way, and at least once in your life you're going to experience heartbreak from it.
Everyone does...
It's to be expected. It's what parents tell their young, to in a way, prepare them for it.
But it's not really something you can prepare for. When it hits it hits, how you choose to deal with it is your choice, how you let it affect you is your choice.
And maybe there's that one out of ten percent chance that you never get to experience it. You can consider it as being luckly or a milestone missed.
But isn't it the same with every other trial us humans have to face, in the end it doesn't matter. Because in the end we leave and we don't come back, all that we've learnt of will have been useless.
In the end we all turn to dust in a whole in the ground, nothing but bones and dirt in a biodegrading casket.
There's no God and there's no Heaven. But the Devil is always one step behind you, waiting for the right time to strike, so he can add you to his list of the damned.
As humans we're sinners, we can't help it, it's in our nature. We've all sinned in our own way, and we all will.
So what's the point in denying it, might as well embrace it, 'cause in the end we're all going to Hell.
