"Wait, so you're telling me that you've never been anywhere outside of Thailand?" Gulf laughs.

"No, my family aren't really the type to travel, or get out of their comfort zone in general." Mew sighs, head bowed down in fake disappointment.

"I feel so sorry for you."

"Okay, then where have you been to then?"

"Well..." He turns his head to the side as if thinking really hard.

"Oh come on, don't fucking gloat and act all smug like you've been to twenty different countries." He bites throwing him a glare from across the table.

"Okay okay. Well... I've been to America, which was okay. I've been to Britain, Brazil and Shanghai."

Gulf's eyes go wide at the last one, it having obviously picked his interest. "You've been to China?"

"Ah, yeah."

"What was it like?"

"Beautiful honestly, I loved it there. My mom had needed to travel there for work, and she'd asked if me and my sister wanted to come along. I was only 15 at the time, my sister 11. I wasn't sure at first, but once we got there I knew I'd made the right decision."

"After being there the first few couple of days my dad had decided to take us out to dinner and I got to experience the nightlife and it was just something. And instead of like going out to a restaurant or something, we ended up going to this market and just eating and trying out all the different foods, it was pretty cool and just in a way... educational. The culture there is just something else and so amazing. Out of all the places I've been to, Shanghai and Brazil were my favourite."

Gulf nods, taking in the information, and Mew can see the longing in his gaze, already understanding what it means. "You want to go there?" Gulf turns to him, a forced smile on his face.

"For as long as I can remember, I've always wanted to travel, see the world, and China's always been my number one on the list ever since I can remember. When I saw what it was like, and the culture... I fell in love. But with my family and everything, I've never been able to or had any opportunities to go and visit." He looks down at his hands, a small smile on his face.

"But maybe one day I'll get to go there and experience everything for myself."

Mew mimics Gulf's action, looking down at his own hands. Even though he has no reason to, he feels guilty. Something he took for granted, with a pinch of salt, is something someone else would cherish and treasure.

"I'm sorry." He mumbles.

In front of him he hears Gulf chuckle making him look up at the other. "You literally have no reason to apologise, it's not your fault that I can't go, it's just the way it is. And besides, I'm sure I'll get to travel and see the world at one point. I don't exactly have time for that right now anyway."

"I know, it's just... I guess I took it for granted. It's something not everyone gets to do and I just brushed it off."

"Well let that be a lesson to you then. But I get it in a way. People who have the resources and capability to do things that the average person can't do, don't usually see that it's a privilege, and rather perceive it as the norm." Mew nods, seeing the others point.

"I know I'm privileged, and it's not something I necessarily take for granted, but I guess I didn't see the advantage in something as simple as being able to travel."

"People usually don't." He says taking a bite of his food. "And it's good that you, in a way, do."

"Did you just indirectly compliment me?"
