Across from him, Gulf ate away at his cheeseburger, occasionally sipping on his vanilla milkshake. While Mew hand simply ordered a blueberry muffin - that was bigger then he thought it would be - and a sprite.

The latter's order had Mew surprised, he just didn't understand how people could eat so much, Gulf's milkshake alone was like a meal because of its contents, and then the cheeseburger, to Mew it seemed like he was having two meals for lunch, and the fact that he could consume that much just baffled Mew.

Well sure, Mew sometimes also had those days where he just wanted to eat and do nothing else, so he'd usually eat a lot more on those days then what his usual intake for a day would be, but it still had Mew amazed at what Gulf or his friends ate in a day. He often more than not didn't even have breakfast in the mornings.

And even if Mew did want to eat more on a daily basis, he probably couldn't even physically do it. His stomach wouldn't agree with it, after years of eating like he does, it would probably make Mew sick to eat like his friends do. And he was honestly fine with that.

Taking a bite of his abnormally sized muffin, Mew looks up toward Gulf as he hears the other clear his throat, as if trying to catch his attention.

"Um, I just wanted to say thanks for the lunch?" Mew almost instantly starts laughing, the other's awkward gratitude seeming all to amusing in Mew's head.

He knows Gulf's just trying to ease the current atmosphere around them, the topic of their last discussion having a rather long lasting silence effect between the two, neither of them knowing what to talk about or rather feeling too conflicted to try and start a conversation.

"Why are you thanking me? This is my penance isn't it?"

"Yeah, but it's still polite to thank someone for a meal, and, and I was just thanking you..." He quiets down at the last sentence, his uneasiness showing its self through his posture.

Mew sighs, hand running through his hair as he looks at Gulf, eyes trailing the male's stiffened features. "You confuse me Gulf." He states simply.

Gulf's nose crinkles, his eyebrows falling forward as he turns toward Mew, giving him a look asking for an explanation. "What?"

"I don't understand you. Your personality, your morals, you intrigue yet frustrate me, and I feel like it could drive me crazy, if I thought about it for too long it probably would."

Gulf looks at him with an expression that clearly shows that he wasn't expecting that as an answer. It surprised him that Mew had thought so deep into the matter, it seemed like he'd looked him up and down, watched him, as if he were studying for a test. In short, he was just trying to understand him, but Gulf was sure he never would, everyone gave up on him at some point.

"It's hard to understand a person when they themselves are trying to do the same thing with themselves."

Mew looks out at the parking lot, he wasn't going to pry on what Gulf meant, it didn't seem like he wanted Mew to, he was simply trying to get Mew to understand that he couldn't figure him out, even if he put his all into it.

Mew wouldn't be able to figure him out if there was nothing on display to analyze, not when Gulf wasn't able to present anything. But Mew didn't quite get that yet.

"I can usually read people pretty well, something I learnt to do at a young age, but you, you're like a book I want to desperately read but can't because it's in a language I don't understand."

"Some languages aren't meant to be learnt." He sighs watching Mew's unchanging features as he looks out the window.

"You have the morals of a naïve and foolish boy."
