Ep 8: The Enemy from Within

"Hello?" Naru cried out.

The sound echoed through the dark room making her feel even more alone.

Fubuki clicked on his flashlight and shone it around trying to make sense of his surroundings.

They were trapped in the basement, no with light switches, or phone service. What a night, exactly what Fubuki wanted to do. Spend his night in a dark basement covered in dust searching for his lost Beyblade.

Moving the boxes, Fubuki climbed out of the fort and picked up Naru. The basement was large.

After searching around for 10 minutes Fubuki finally found the light switch. Unlike its cluttered messy appearance from when the lights were off the baseman was actually a lot nicer than before.

A couch in the shape of a right angle took up most of the space facing a projector. Behind that was a large eat in kitchen complete with full sized appliances and a farmhouse sink. The basement also had pool table, ping pong table, exercise room, and a couple of bedrooms.

After searching the basement the pair didn't find anything. But to lighten the mood Fubuki and Naru played some ping pong together.

Fubuki won most of the time but Naru somehow managed to snag a couple of wins.

"Alright best 2 out of 5?"

"You're on."

Naru smiled and readied the ball.

Just as she was serving it, Fubuki saw something out of the corner of his eye. A small white figure opened the basement door a little making it creek open a little.

Narrowing his eyes the ball flew past him.

"What was that?"

"I don't know but I think we should follow it."

Setting down their paddles the pair ended their game and went back upstairs.

"Aww man why do I keep losing?"

For the past hour Aiger and Ranjiro had been in the game room playing.. you called it video games.

After playing for a while the group moved onto the next room after Ranjiro got frustrated on losing so much.

Moving on the group decided to go to the theatre room but took a wrong turn and ended up in the ballroom.

The floor was black and white tiles that were cleaned to perfection. Sixteen large windows covered the majority of the walls. But most were covered up by the curtains. The room reminded Aiger of one of Naru's Disney movies: Beauty and the Beast when they were dancing.

"Wow, would you look at this place."

"I wonder what they used it for." Aiger said looking around.

"If I'd have to guess I'd say for parties or meetings."

"It's so big! Look at these ceilings, they're at least 25 feet tall!"

The boys explored the empty room looking around at the artwork or outside. But eventually they got bored.

"Hey Captain,"

"What is it Aiger you've got this look in your eye."

"I dare you to peer behind that curtain."

Aiger pointed to the center window covered up by the curtain in the back of the room. Out of all the windows it was the tallest and most imposing. Neither of the boys dared to go over there because the window was moving. They ignored it and moved on with their fun.

"What no way."

"What? Are you scared?"

"No of course not."

"Then prove it."

Aiger gestured to the curtain.

"Fine then."

Ranjiro hesitantly made his way over to the curtain. The closer he got the more he regretted his decision. Anything could be behind that curtain.

Something scary or just one of the dogs. Gripping the curtain he stood there for a few minutes thinking. Then he opened it, the window was open letting it a cool breeze of air.

"Are you kidding me?!"

Then something small and white flew out of the curtains. Ranjiro screamed like a little girl and waved his hands. Meanwhile Aiger was in the back of laughing at his reaction.

Carl the bird flew around the room and landed on the chandelier.

In his beak was Forenous, and in each claw was Achilles and Rocktovar.

Moving the curtain aside was the rest of the stolen beys.

Ranjiro grabbed the rest of the beys holding them in his arms.

"After that bird!"

Aiger took off in a sprint eager to get his bey back. Ranjiro followed at the slower pace.

"Wait up!"

Aiger followed the bird all over the house, as he ran he bumped into people and objects making a mess.

"Aiger what are you doing?" Naru and Fubuki stood in the middle of the hallway.

"That bird has my bey!"

After chasing the bird around there was a whistle.

"Carl!"

The bird changed directions back to the front door.

At the door Cuza Ackerman stood with Carl on his shoulder the group raced to the front door giving up on their goose chase of a search.

"Hey guys!"

"Cuza Ackerman? What are you doing here?"

"Wait, do you know him Captain?"

"Hey I know you! You're Rantaro's brother!"

"Yup the one and only."

"Wait so I'm confused why are we here?"

"Well my parents do the circus but they also do a haunted house attraction when it's halloween. So we invited you guys here to test out our new haunted house but Carl here got carried away. Here."

Cuza tossed their beys back to their owners. Fubuki caught Forenous and stuffed the bey into his pocket.

After everyone got their beys back the group gathered in the kitchen and ate some snacks.

Then when things quieted down Aiger and Ranjiro told Cuza about their theory on Theodore and Phi. He told them that when he went back to BC Sol he'd pass on the information.

While everyone was hanging out and talking Fubuki managed to slip outside.

It was a cool crisp night and the stars were shining beautifully in the sky.

Fubuki narrowed his eyes as they glowed. Forenous was glowing too in response as if it too was ready to go into battle. But Fubuki's aura was a bit different from earlier.

"I'm coming for you Suoh."

Fubuki put his bey back into his pocket but what he didn't see was that the bey twinkled black agreeing. They were going to get him back, along with everyone else missing.

Even if he had to go into the darkness himself... with out knowing it.
