Ep 23: The Deal!

After lunch the sun was starting to set, casting a dark atmosphere and tension

Luckily Aiger and Ranjiros battle wasn't happening until the night but everyone was on edge. Valt mainly hung out with Aiger while Fubuki kept an eye on Ranjiro.

"Why did it have to be Aiger? It didn't say anything about that yesterday. Heck today was supposed to be my day off."

Ranjiro launched while Fubuki was on the other side of the battle. They collided.

"We came here to stick together and not be split up. It's not fair."

"Tell me about it, one of us has to lose! It's probably going to be me, it's Aiger! He's been the world champion, and he's beaten Phi! And Valt!"

"Maybe we could try to delay it? We could go challenge Phi ourselves."

The beys slowed down, bending over Fubuki picked up Forenous.

"No, we can't. I can't beat Phi. Besides that guys as shady as a shadow, how would we know where to find him?"

Fubuki was quiet, not knowing how to respond.

"It was inevitable that this was going to happen. Besides it better that's it's now then the finale."

"Don't say that I'm sure we can find another way. There has to be!"

"No, there isn't." Ranjiro lowered his head in defeat knowing his fate.

He went over to the stadium and launched.

"You know..."

Ranjiro looked up to see Fubuki standing in the doorway with his back to Ranjiro.

"A friend told me the other day worrying about your problems and giving in is basically letting Phi win. But that's why we have to keep fighting, even when things get tough. Because that's what makes a true blader."

Fubuki walked out of the room leaving a speechless Ranjiro.

Walking out of the room Fubuki walked past Phi. Fubuki hadn't seen Phi in a long time. Heck he hadn't seen Phi since the beginning of the tournament.

As Phi passed him Fubuki had an idea.

"Phi?"

They stopped back to back facing opposing sides.

"I challenge you to a battle."

"Hmm okay."

A simple okay, it almost seemed too easy to Fubuki.

Fubuki turned around and so did Phi. Phi wore a smirk that angered Fubuki so much his eyes were glowing again without realizing it. In fact a dark aura had started to form around him.

"Hmmm, how interesting. It's funny how similar you are to Shu Kurenai. In fact he was once going down the same path you are."

His words cut like razor blades, Phi hadn't said it but he said it without saying it. He was becoming more like Red Eye.

"Meet me in the Arena."

"And if I win the loser of the next battle doesn't get sent down that creepy chute."

"I'll go along with your game for now Fubuki but if I win you must steal something for me."

Phi held out his hand smirking once again. Fubuki hesitatingly held out his hand thinking over the deal. He knew it was a bad idea to agree to a deal he didn't know all the details about. But Ranjiro was on the line and Fubuki knew they couldn't afford to lose another blader.

Fubuki shook Phi's hand, feeling a burst of power.

"What do you need me to steal?"

"We'll discuss the details after the battle."

Phi walked off leaving Fubuki wondering what Phi was up to.

A little later after their conversation Fubuki met Phi in the arena. Unlike last time the place was quiet. Almost too quiet.

Normally fans, friends, and family would be sitting up in the bleachers but it was just Phi and Fubuki. Even the fire didn't come on.

Both bladers got into their launching stances.

"3..."

"2..."

"1..."

"Let it rip!"

Forenous rode around the outside of the stadium while Phoenix took up the center. Right off the bat Fubuki started attacking.

"Tsunami Crash!"

Forenous used the outer edge and collided with Phoenix sending it's armor flying off. But Phoenix was still spinning, Fubuki knew he was going to have to try harder than that.

"Dread Crush."

Falling from the air Phoenix fell onto Forenous with major impact. Somehow Forenous held on enduring the attack. An aura of dark colors surrounded Fubuki as he summoned the great shark.

Brushing off the attack Forenous broke away from Phoenix. This surprised Phi since he wasn't expecting that to happen.

"Ultra Tsunami Drift."

Forenous collided with Phoenix, Phoenix flew out of the stadium bursting. Phi was even more surprised but after looking back on the camera footage Phoenix bursted after hitting the ground.

"Not bad."

Phi said, picking up Phoenix.

"But now the real battle starts."

Phi snapped Phoenix together, an aura of dark purple surrounded Phi. The same happened to Fubuki except his eyes were glowing.

This time it was different Phoenix immediately collided with Forenous bursting it less than a second. Fubuki was speechless.

He fell to his knees gathering the pieces of Forenous.

He looked up at Phi glaring at him while Phi just smiled.

"We'll discuss the rest after dinner."

Phi walked off leaving Fubuki in the dark arena.

After picking up the pieces Fubuki walked out of the stadium with his head hanging down in defeat.

Walking back to the training room he found Ranjiro training.

"Yo, what's up Fubuki?"

"I found Phi and I challenged him but I'm sorry I couldn't stop the fight. I lost, I wish I could've done more."

"It's okay Fubuki this was bound to happen and besides you did what you could."

Ranjiro smiled and went back to launching.

Fubuki left the training room and went to the arena.
