Okay so before we begin I'd like to start off by saying: I suck with sticking to timelines. When they're on this journey they are celebrating two birthday's that don't line up with the timeline. So basically the next few chapters will be timeskips and also they do tie in with the plot but not the timeline. But basically the birthdays are months apart while the tournament is earlier than them. But despite me messing up I hope you guys still enjoy the chapter!
Arthur Peregrine and Toko Aoi were now missing.
It was all over the news, over half the TV's in New York were covered with the headlines.
Two more bladers gone missing.
At this point the situation was starting to sink in for some people. 8 well known bladers were gone, vanished, missing. Toko, Arthur, Zac, Suoh, Cuza, Free, Koji, and Diago.
Most bladers could kind of care less about Arthur but for Toko this news spread like wildfire. Almost as much as Free's disappearance. Valt Aoi's little brother had gone missing. Nika was devastated and so was Valt.
Out of everyone Valt was carrying the most weight on his shoulders. By now most of his friends had gone missing and now it was his family. This was starting to get personal. Each day the number of bladers dropped drastically and people considered the sport their own doom.
But on the other side of the world was Shu Kurenai watching the situation unfold from afar.
Lately Shu had been worried but for a team owner that's to be expected. Bills, training, bladers leaving. Things had kept him busy but this was starting to get serious.
8 bladers were missing including Valt's brother. He knew he had to do something. Unlike the rest of the world bladers weren't going missing there but they were leaving the Bulls because of the situation. People were assuming if you blade then you're going to go missing. But Shu knew that was wrong.
Way wrong, Shu knew that because he'd been blading for years or long enough to know that rumor wasn't true.
Sighing, he moved away from the window. Despite Phi's announcement it was a special day. It was Shu's birthday. For the past couple of days things had picked up for Shu. Bladers were leaving and the Global Gauntlet was coming up in a couple of months.
That morning some students gave him gifts while others left cards on his desk. But what Shu really wanted was to go and celebrate with his friends but of course that was hard when everyone's busy.
Just then out of nowhere the doors opened to reveal Fubuki and Valerie standing in the doorway.
"Fubuki? What are you doing here?"
"Well Valerie and I happened to be in the neighborhood and..."
"Happy Late Birthday Shu!"
Valerie set down a small present on Shu's table while Fubuki realized he didn't have a present.
You would've figured Fubuki would remember something important like this but with everything that was going it slipped his mind.
"Thank you Valerie."
Shu followed Fubuki's eyes up to the TV where Phi's announcement was paused.
"I assume the two of you are on your way to Phi's tournament."
"Yeah, I'm going to take down Phi and end his reign of terror."
Fubuki's fists were clenched but there was something off or different about him.
"I've got an idea!"
Valerie leaped into the air with excitement breaking the tension between the two boys.
"Shu, since it's you're birthday how about Fubuki and I take care of the bulls for the day. So you can go celebrate with your friends. Also this is Fubuki's birthday present."
Valerie smiled while stood in the back cracking a smaller smile.
"Alright fine, here's the list of today's priorities and make sure each and every one of them is done. Okay?"
"Okay." They said together.
"Fubuki and Valerie the both of you are trusted to take care of the Raging Bulls for the day. Here's today's lists of priorities."
Shu handed Fubuki and Valerie each their own list of tasks and chores.
Fubuki nodded his head with a hint of determination and Shu nodded back.
After saying his goodbyes Shu left for BC Sol.
As Valerie was looking at the list Shu pulled Fubuki aside.
"Fubuki I need to talk to you, it's about our situation. Right now I'm heading over to BC Sol to celebrate with Valt. While I'm gone I need you to hold down the fort but when you're done with your duties feel free to come and celebrate with me."
"But before I go I also need to warn you there's something corrupting your power Fubuki. You need to resist it no matter how powerful you feel. I know you like to carry the weight of the world on your shoulders but don't forget you're not the only one fighting this fight."
Fubuki nodded his head, not saying a word. Shu smilied back and put on his coat.
As Fubuki and Valerie were talking Spryzen sensed something. Tapping into his beys power he felt it too. For a split second he thought he saw Valerie's aura glitch.
Narrowing his eyes he walked out of the room. As he was walking Shu thought about the first time those two met.
It was a sunny day but not for everyone back then at the beginning of the League The Raging Bulls and BC Sol were having a friendly match.
Fubuki and Valerie were on both teams' rosters and had been paired up to go against each other. Back then things used to be so simple.
Valerie's bey Vaughn had sliced through Forenous making her the winner. Fubuki was crushed but he wasn't giving up. So he kept practicing until he was able to beat Valerie back. From there the two were inseparable. Almost like the were best friends.
In fact Fubuki seemed different; he seemed more peaceful after meeting her. But after what Shu saw from Valerie he wasn't so sure about trusting her anymore...
