Ep 32: The Epic Showdown! Part 1

Phi stood across from Fubuki wearing his usual smirk. It angered Fubuki, triggering his dark resonance to surround him.

Forenous and Phoenix kept attacking each other but Phoenix sliced through Forenous breaking it into pieces.

Fubuki fell down the trap door screaming.

Fubuki woke up abruptly looking around. Looking over at his alarm clock he had slept in. At this point it was almost nine and he still wasn't ready to start training or to eat breakfast.

Getting up he scrambled around the room getting clothes or starting the shower. Normally the water would feel nice but Fubuki didn't have the time. Instead he quickly got what he needed to get done.

After getting ready he made his way down to the cafeteria for the last time getting breakfast. It was hard to believe things were going to go back to normal.

But this still raised the question of the missing bladers. Some had been gone since 4 months while others it had been a week. But still there was no pattern to the way they went missing.

But what Aiger, Valt and Kit told him Phi had something to do with it. But why would they need all those bladers? It still wasn't adding up.

After eating breakfast Valt and Aiger helped Fubuki train.

Except this time training was a bit more interesting. So Fubuki could pull off stronger launch Aiger and Valt had set up a fun obstacle course with punching bags and other fun surprises.

By the time it was lunch everyone was exhausted. The boys spent lunchtime getting their energy back and getting refreshed.

"Hey Fubuki we've got a surprise."

Standing in the doorway was none other Vincent.

"Vincent! What are you doing here?"

Valt and Aiger walked off leaving them to catch up.

"Well I was just about to leave when I saw that you made the finals. So I came back despite what felt right. And I've got a surprise."

Vincent pulled out a new bey it was a beautiful red and orange almost like a maroon. Highlights of silver were also in there.

"Meet Cerise Venatrix."

"Wow it's so cool."

"Thanks wanna battle?"

For the rest of the afternoon Vincent and Fubuki had lots of fun together and for a while Fubuki seemed to forget about everything and just focused on having fun.

"Will Fubuki Sumiye please report to the Dread Tower arena one last time?"

The fun and joy drained from Fubuki's face, what he was attempting was starting to sink in.

"Hey Fubuki just remember to breathe and have fun."

"Right."

Fubuki ran out of the training room onto the Dread Tower arena.

Making his way to the stadium Phi had his eyes innocently closed. It reminded Fubuki of Suoh in a way.

"First in the blue corner it's Fubuki Sumiye, the former captain of the begioma academy and student of Shu Kurenai! And his bey Tsunami Forenous the master of the sea!"

"And in the red corner it's the mysterious lord of destruction Phi! He's been on a devastating rampage. With his bey Dread Phoenix who will he destroy next?"

"First battle!"

Fubuki's eyes started glowing and his dark resonance took over. This was it, this is what he had been waiting for.

Before the battle Fubuki had talked to Shu about defeating Phi. Shu had told him the best way was to commit yourself to defending himself until he had the right chance.

"Fubuki Sumiye the corrupted blader or should I say almost corrupted."

"You're one to talk."

"Feisty are we?"

Fubuki held out his launcher and so did Phi.

"Let it Rip!"

Phoenix went in for the attack while Forenous was playing defense.

"Tsunami Guard!"

The twelve blades on Forenous lit up fending off the attacks.

Phi was relaxed watching the battle unfold; it was almost eerie how relaxed and quiet he was.

Just like the last battle Phoenix started wobbling.

"Nows my chance!"

Fubuki summoned Forenous, and came in for the attack. And that's when Phi saw it. The dark power was starting to take hold and soon Fubuki would be gone.

But Fubuki had a strong mind, and it surprised Phi that he wasn't fully corrupted even though he'd toyed with him months ago.

At the same time Fubuki was getting stronger and so was the dark power. Just by being around Valerie had worked in his favor.

Forenous collided with Phoenix head on. The armor was sent flying off of the stadium. This was exactly what Fubuki wanted. Phi wouldn't be able to use any of his moves with the armor now including the one that broke the beys.

Phoenix came to a stop while Forenous kept spinning.

"Nice try Fubuki but we both know you're holding back."

As much as he hated to say it but Phi's taunting was right he was holding back. He knew it would only be a matter of time before the darkness consumed him. Before the battle Shu had also told him the more he battled the less time he had.

"Let it rip!"

This time Phi was ready holding out his launcher his eyes glowed back and a violet aura was starting to take shape.

His long flowing hair was moving even though there wasn't any wind. Fubuki did the same. The battle hadn't even started yet and the sparks were already flying.

"Let it rip!"

This time Phoenix took the center while Forenous was attacking.

"Ultra Tsunami Drift!"

Forenous clashed with Phoenix instead of a burst for Phoenix the opposite happened. Forenous was thrown into the air hitting the side of the stadium.

That was too close.

"Tsunami Crash!"

Forenous clashed with Phoenix once again. But this time Phoenix's armor came flying off.

It was a race to the armor but Phoenix won. Hitting the armor it ricocheted off of the wall knocking Forenous out of the stadium.

Some people were booing at Phi, he pretended to look deeply offended but he'd heard worse.

"Why be a blader Fubuki when you could be a Lord."

"Because you're no Lord Phi, I've had to work hard to get to where I am and I'm not about to let you ruin my fun."

"You've only scratched the surface of your full potential. There's so much more I could teach you about dark resonance."

His eyes flashed black.

"I could even teach you how to beat Shu."

That caught Fubuki's attention, for a long time he'd always wanted to beat Shu. Shu had taught him the fundamentals and basics and it had always been his dream to show him what he was capable of.

Phi started laughing like a maniac and his resonance seemed to grow. His eyes were a deep shade of black, his hair danced with energy and force and the violet aura seemed to darken.

"Third battle."
