The next morning was dark and dreary. A huge thunderstorm was on its way and it was making the whole sky dark.

But even though it was dark outside Fubuki didn't sleep in. Instead he woke up early. Everyone was still sleeping in.

The dark cloudy sky didn't just create a gloomy mood it also reflected Fubuki's mood.

Vincent and Ranjiro were now gone only leaving 8 bladers for the two days of semi finals.

After getting dressed Fubuki made his way to the cafeteria. Walking in nobody was awake but there was a buffet out. Grabbing a plate he went ahead and had an early breakfast.

He felt lonely, he wanted to go back to sleep but now that he was up there was no going back to bed.

At the same time Fubuki was fine being alone. But he did envy what Valt and Aiger had: a long lasting friendship.

The longest friendship he had was with Toko but outside of blading he didn't really have that many friends. But he did feel different. A lot of kids don't understand the power of blading which sometimes makes him feel like an outsider.

It was complicated just like a lot of other things.

After finishing breakfast everyone started coming in crowding the cafeteria. Feeling crowded, Fubuki left going to the training room.

But right as he was leaving Valt came in telling everyone they announced the lineups for the morning. Starting off the morning was Valerie versus Boa. While Fubuki was battling Hyde in the night.

Valerie versus Boa that would be interesting to watch but he had training to do.

Taking his leave he made his way down to the training room and began practicing.

If Fubuki made it through this next battle he would make it onto the finals but first he just needed to get through today.

Hyde's bey was a balance type that could switch between attack and defense. Fubuki knew that when Hyde battled Aiger he would go from attack to defense.

Fubuki's bey was a defense type, so Fubuki had a feeling he would attack but this was Hyde. And Hyde was wild and unpredictable.

But battling Hyde first would be a good warm up for Phi. On the other hand Phi was light years away from Hyde but still.

It was like comparing Toko to Valt and Hyde to Phi basically.

After a while Fubuki overheard bladers talking about Valerie and Boa's battle. Apparently Valerie had crushed Boa but Boa managed to escape.

Fubuki was happy another blader managed to escape.

For the rest of the afternoon Fubuki practiced strategies, launches and other blading techniques. He also watched some battles of Hyde.

And before he was ready or knew it the battle was starting soon.

Heading to the Dread Tower Arena the rain began pouring. Through the windows the reflection of lighting could also be seen.

Fubuki stood across from Hyde with a determined look. While Hyde was smiling.

Fubuki was terrified, his heart was pounding so fast he could hear it in his ears. Holding out his launcher he tapped into his power.

On the other side of the stadium Hyde was pushing back his hair revealing his red eye. Hyde seemed amused by Fubuki's dark power and in a way it reminded him of Aiger.

Taking out his launcher Fubuki expected Hyde to attack. By anticipating this he aimed for outside of the stadium.

"Let it rip!"

Fubuki was wrong, Hyde had chosen his defense mode by taking up the center. This caught Fubuki off guard but he managed to keep going.

"You know Fubuki I was there back when Shu was Red Eye. It's sad to think you're going down that same path. You'd think he would've taught you better."

Fubuki didn't look up at Hyde, he didn't even want to think about Hyde, he just wanted to beat him. He just wanted to win.

"Tsunami Drift!"

Forenous crashed into Hades but instead Hades was too strong. Forenous fell back wobbling and eventually it came to a stop while Hades was still spinning.

This was going to be a tough battle.

Hyde only earned one point so far but Fubuki wasn't giving up.

Holding out his launcher this time he was going to take the middle.

"Let it rip!"

Forenous managed to take the center while Hades was on the outside.

"Tsunami Guard!"

As Hades attacked Forenous managed to brush them off.

"Dread Impulse!"

Forenous collided with Hades brushing off the attack. Using the energy it went up the slope of the stadium.

The excess energy Hades had given Forenous was perfect because Hades had hit Forenous had hit Forenous so hard it caused Forenous to ride the slope. While Hades lost power.

"Tsunami Crash!"

Forenous rode down the slope using Hades energy to his advantage. While Hyde was caught off guard.

Forenous knocked Hades out of the stadium. The crowd cheered while Fubuki picked up Forenous.

"Why are you here Hyde? Why did you come back here after Phi kicked you out?"

Hyde sighed and Fubuki could tell this was personal.

"I know Phi better than anyone else which means I have the best chance to beat him. Which is why I need to win because he's gone too far."

"Huh."

Fubuki was quiet thinking. Hyde was the best choice. He grew up with Phi and he did know him better than anyone else. Heck Hyde knew the Dread Tower better than anyone else.

"Besides Fubuki there's something else going on here. Something big, it's the reason why they're so strict on where we can and can and can't go. Telling you right now is probably angering Phi right now."

"That explains the jail cells and Phi wanting Red Eyes mask and gauntlet."

"The jail cells have been there forever since the war but then again he could be using them to trap them. But Phi wanting the mask and gauntlet can't be anything good."

"Third battle!"

Fubuki held out his launcher, he desperately wanted to ask more questions but now that the battle was reaching its endgame it was getting harder and harder.

"Let it Rip!"
