CHAPTER 7: Tears

"Umuwi ka na" he insisted.

Umirap ako "Wow ha. Ikaw na nagde-desisyon sa buhay ko ngayon?" 

Agad nanliit ang mga mata niya at tumitig sa akin. Maliit na nga yung mata niya, pinapaliit niya pa lalo.

My lips immediately parted when he suddenly stood up and took both of our bags with him. Hindi siya sumagot kaya tumayo nalang ako at sumunod sa kanya. We walked towards his car. When we're already in front of his car, he stopped walking and turned to me.

"Anong gusto mong kainin?" he suddenly asked.

"Ikaw"

 

Ken drove to the nearest mall. We would always have spontaneous trips. Sometimes, those that aren't planned are worth doing.

"Magkano ambag ko?" I asked him.

"Wag na. Nakakahiya naman sayo, Kiara baka masira kinabukasan mo"

He started placing our foods on the table. We went to eat inside a fast food chain. I've been drooling over fried chickens. He bought a bucket of it with fries and spaghetti. Ang dami non! But I swear, I can finish them all.

"Parang may nag-iba sayo" pagpuna ko "Wala na yung hikaw mo, bes"

Napansin ko kasing wala na yung black earrings niya.

"Oo. Mukha na akong good boy, diba?"

I pouted and ignored him. I didn't bother to disagree. He really looked softer and seraphic. Di na siya mukhang bad boy.

We stayed there for like two hours. Di ko naubos yung pagkain, sayang, masakit na kasi yung tiyan ko. Di ko pala kayang ubusin. Ang dami tuloy natira, mahina rin kasing kumain si Ken. He was such a vain.

After eating we decided to take a walk and head towards the river park. May river park kasi roon sa likod ng mall and that was my favorite spot. It was peaceful there. Parang ang sarap lang tumingin sa kawalan.

We sat under the tree, mahangin kasi doon. I took a glance at the people there and they're mostly couples. After that I took a glance at Ken, he was already holding his phone, playing. His back was leaning on the tree, I moved a bit closer to him. Ang bango niya ha.

I took my phone out of my bag together with my earphones. I started to listen to music on full volume. I decided to close my eyes and leaned my head on Ken's shoulder. He didn't complain, he was busy playing.

Someone could probably see us together. Yes, everyone knows we were best buddies, but nothing will change the fact that Ken has a girlfriend. People might judge me, by not knowing the line.
