As Stiles and I headed into Math class, we saw Malia trying to make a break for it. I caught her, pushing her back into the classroom. 'I hate math, it's pointless!' she protested.

I sighed, 'It's school. School is important and math is essential.'

'To what?'

'Knowing how much to tip at restaurants,' Stiles replied.

Lydia rolled her eyes and turned in her seat to speak to us, 'And other less important things like medicine, economics, engineering.'

'Tipping.'

Ms Fleming smiled at us, 'Alright, volunteers to the board. Lydia, Diego, Malia.'

Malia frowned, 'Um... I didn't volunteer.'

'You did now. To the board.'

Malia turned to look at us, Stiles gave her a thumbs up but his face immediately fell when she growled at him. Stiles' phone buzzed and he glanced at me in shock when he saw the text.

'An axe murderer?' Kira asked as Stiles told her, Scott and I what had happened.

He nodded, 'A family-murdering axe murderer.'

Scott sighed, 'I already heard about it.'

'Wait, you did? How?'

'My mom called me. She knew we'd see it on the news.'

Stiles turned around, 'Perfect, let's go!'

Scott shook his head, 'Whoa, whoa. We've got Econ in five minutes.'

'Right, did you forget the part about the family-murdering axe murderer?'

'Did you forget that your dad's the Sheriff? They want us to stay out of it.'

Stiles looked to me for help but I shrugged, 'He's got a point. We're teenagers, not cops.'

He scoffed, 'Are you guys kidding me? There's a family-murdering axe murderer and we're not going to do anything about it?'

'Maybe we should just let the adults handle it,' Kira answered.

'So the three of you, you just want to stay here, school, go to class. Never heard anything so irresponsible in my life. I'm disappointed in you, Ari,' he began to walk away but quickly doubled back and pressed a kiss to my cheek, 'Kidding, love you!' He rushed off again.

'See you at try-outs?' Scott called after him. I moved over to my locker to grab some books, waiting for Scott. 'Hey, so that thing you wanted to talk about?' he asked Kira.

She nodded, grinning, 'Yeah-'

He interrupted, 'Yeah. Can we talk later, after try-outs? Do you mind waiting? it won't be that long.'

'Um... I... sure.'

'Great! See you then' He gave her a chaste kiss before heading to Econ without a second thought. Kira and I looked at each other in confusion.

I followed him into class, looking at him expectantly. 'What was that?' I chuckled.

He frowned, 'What was what? I don't... oh God.' His eyes widened as he realised what he had just done.

Malia, Kira and I were sat on the bleachers, watching the lacrosse try-outs. Coach blew his whistle as the boys ran laps around the pitch, making remarks as they went past,' Terrible... horrifying... pathetic... unbelievably pathetic. Is that everyone?' he completely ignored Stiles as he staggered past him, gasping for air as he fell over. 'Yep, that's everyone.'
