I ran down the dark hallway, stumbling as students pushed past me. My hand was clamped against my side as blood leaked from it. The Beast had clawed me when I tried to save Liam. I knew it would heal eventually, it was a small wound.

Screams filled the air as chaos descended. I looked around frantically, trying to listen out for the Beast. I glanced behind me, watching as Stiles and Hayden drag an injured Liam along with them. "In here!" I hissed, pointing to a door.

"The desk, the desk!" Stiles told us as he swiped the different belongings off of it and helped us to rest Liam on it.

The Beta screamed in pain and Hayden gasped, "Liam?"

"I'm okay, I'm fine"

I tore open his lacrosse shirt so that we could get a better look at his wound. We all winced, there was blood. A lot of blood. "Is it bad?" he asked us.

Both Hayden and I shook our heads, "No"

"Very" Stiles glanced at me, slightly cowering under my glare.

"Okay, okay. What do you guys usually do when this happens?" Hayden frowned.

"Uh, I usually pass out. And I think I might still do that" Stiles huffed when I couldn't give an answer. There had never been a wound this bad. Scott did die, but he was saved by his mom, someone who had medical training.

I quickly grabbed Stiles' shoulders, steadying him before he could pass out.

"I can help" I sighed, grabbing onto Liam's hand to take his pain.

It only took a few moments for me to grow tired. Stiles pulled me away from Liam, "Stop, you're already injured. You'll make yourself worse!" He paused, "Okay, Scott did this with pain. He could trigger it. Pain makes you human"

"He's already in pain!"

"Right, okay, but maybe adding a little more could help take away the pain"

Liam yelled in agony again and my eyes widened. "Take away his pain. Hayden, you can take away his pain"

She nodded in realisation before kissing him. Black veins started to appear on her cheeks and the boy's breathing began to even out as he lay back on the desk.

"Okay, next time I'll kiss him" Stiles murmured, earning a playful nudge from me. "Hey, you okay?" he asked, pointing worriedly to the blood on my shirt.

I nodded, lifting it slightly to show him that I was okay. "It's fine. My wound was a lot smaller, I healed on my own"

"You guys need to leave" Liam huffed.

I agreed, "Yeah. Hayden, Stiles, use the window and get as far away from here as possible. Okay?"

Stiles shook his head, "Absolutely not, I won't leave you"

"I can heal, you can't. Hayden can protect you. Go! Now!" I yelled, pushing both of them towards the windows.

He grabbed onto my wrist, "I love you, remember?"

I smiled, "I love you too. Now go!"

Liam and I entered the library, racing up behind the Beast. We launched into the air, slamming our fists against it before rolling to the floor.

There were gunshots and I grinned, turning to see Braeden and Malia in the doorway.

With each bullet, the creature staggered backwards, trying to growl at its attacker. It roared one last time before smashing through the window and disappearing into the night.

Liam and I helped Scott to get up from the floor. "You didn't seriously think you were gonna have a chance against that thing, did you?" Braeden snapped.

"No," Scott panted, "But I got its scent"

Liam and I followed the Alpha out of school. "Scott, wait!" I called, "You're hurt"

"You gotta slow down" Liam urged.

We huffed and glanced at each other before following Scott into the parking lot. He paused at one of them, staring at the trunk as he inhaled the scent. He opened it, staring at the pair of sneakers thsg sat inside.

I sighed, reluctantly picking one of them up to see that the sole was covered in blood. We looked around at each other solemnly before Scott slammed the trunk closed.

Mason was stood nearby, staring at us in confusion. "Scott? What are you doing to my car?"

"It's you" I gasped.

"What? Liam what's he talking about?" Mason frowned. I glanced at the Beta in sympathy, knowing how hard it must have been to find that out. "Liam?" he asked again.

Corey suddenly materialised next to Mason. "Corey, wait!" Scott yelled. The chimera ignored him, grabbing his boyfriend and disappearing again.
