They had found Mason, but he was transformed into the Beast before they could save him. We were gathered in the Animal Clinic, stood around the unconscious Dread Doctor that Scott and Liam had kidnapped. I shivered a little, moving closer to Stiles. There was something really creepy about the man. Maybe it was his weird mask, or maybe it was the fact that he had experimented on countless numbers of innocent teenagers, turning them into killers before murdering them.

"Can you keep him alive?" Scott asked.

"I'm not sure he technically is alive" Deaton sighed as he examined his patient.

Liam huffed as he glared down at him, "Screw keeping him alive. How do we get him to talk?"

Stiles shrugged, "Personally, I don't think we utilise torture nearly enough"

Liam suddenly looked up, "Did you hear that?"

The Dread Doctor sat up, emitting a loud, shrill whirring sound that caused the whole room to shake. I yelped, covering my ears and cowering in the corner as things began to fall from the shelves nearby. "Liam, wait!" Scott yelled as his Beta began to chase after the Doctor.

The man held out his hand, letting out this wave of electric blue energy that hurled the boy across the room. The Doctor stumbled out of the room, making the doors slam shut behind him. I stood up, but Stiles quickly pulled me back down as most of the metal objects in the room suddenly became magnetised to the doors.

"Stop!" Deaton called as we rushed towards the exit blocked with crackling lights and large metal tables and shelves. "It's electrified" he warned us.

I strained my ears, listening to the conversation outside. "Marcel," a man said, "If this is what immortality looks like, I think you might have been misled"

The man had a French accent. But it couldn't be Sebastien, he was dead. Unless the Dread Doctors had resurrected him, too.

"For you..." a hoarse voice spoke up, "All for you"

"What did you do with it, Marcel? Where is the pike?"

There was a pause, "The Argents. The Argents"

Scott and I glanced at each other. "The cane" Scott gasped.

"But they took it, they took the cane" Liam spoke up.

Scott began to search through some files, "Maybe there's something in here. Something about how he was a genetic chimera"

Deaton nodded, "Mason had a vanishing twin"

"Now we've got a vanishing Mason" Stiles joked.

"What does that have to do with him turning into a two hundred and fifty-year-old French guy?How does that even happen?" Liam asked.

Deaton held up his hand, "Hold on, Scott might have something. Mason's twin wasn't entirely gone, that's what made him a genetic chimera"

I gasped, "The DNA was still there"

"Metaphorically speaking, the DNA of Mason could still be inside Sebastien as well" Deaton nodded.

"How?"

The veterinarian paused, searching for the right words, "Life is energy. Energy doesn't just disappear. The Dread Doctors may have found a way to break the rules of the supernatural world, but there are some rules that simply won't break"

Liam sighed, "So Mason can't just be gone?"

"Somewhere in Sebastien, he has to still exist in some form. A spark of energy, a flicker of memory"
