Stiles pulled me into a tight hug when he arrived at Scott's house. "Are you okay? Are you hurt?" he asked as he frantically examined me for injuries.

"I'm okay. But there's something more important. We know who the Beast is"

His eyes went wide, "Who?"

I sighed, "Mason. We didn't even consider the possibility that it could be one of us!"

"Well, where is he?"

"That's the thing, Corey grabbed him and disappeared. We have no clue where they are"

He groaned, "Please tell me that the others are okay?"

I shrugged, "Scott's hurt, but he should heal quickly. Do you want to see him?"

"Yeah" he nodded, taking my hand as we headed upstairs.

When we got to Scott's room, we found Kira sat next to him. He looked exhausted. Kira gave us a nod and Stiles reluctantly closed the door.

We headed back down the hallway, pausing when we saw Malia and Braeden watching us. "What? What's wrong?" Stiles frowned.

"Tell him" Braeden huffed.

"You know how my mother wants to kill me?" Malia asked, "I think she might want to kill you, too"

My eyes went wide but I stayed silent. Stiles paused, "Okay, uh, that's disconcerting"

"Why the hell does she want him dead?" I raised my voice slightly, gripping onto Stiles' hand.

Malia shrugged, "Well, uh, she saw him there and I guess she assumed... she wants to hurt me"

He nodded, "Okay, well, I should probably have a gun"

We all glanced at Braeden and she scoffed, "I'm not giving you a gun"

"You have a gun. The Desert Wolf, who is trying to kill me, has a gun. I think that I should probably have a gun!"

After a moment's pause, Braeden rolled her eyes and took a gun out of her waistband. She loaded it and threw it to him. I closed my eyes as he fumbled with the weapon, causing it to clatter to the ground. "I probably shouldn't have a gun" he mumbled.

"My dad's got an APB out on him" Stiles told us.

Kira frowned, "For a 5'8'' 16-year-old?"

He shrugged, "I recommended nine-foot tall rampaging werewolf"

"It still might not be him," Liam said, there was a heavy silence, "But, Hayden's at the school, looking"

"I can keep checking the woods" Malia suggested.

Scott spoke up from the doorway, "My mom can check all the hospitals in the county. We can find him"

Liam nodded, "What happens then?"

"We figure out a way to save him"

"Okay. Where else could we look?" Lydia frowned.

Scott shrugged, "Let's ask Corey"

He reached behind him, pulling a suddenly-materialised Corey from what seemed like thin air. We gasped and jumped a little. The chimera began to panic, "Wait, wait. It's not my fault. They took him and I couldn't do anything! They took him-"

"Who?" I shouted.

"The Dread Doctors"

Stiles and I entered the Sheriff's office, glancing at his dad and Lydia. "Still nothing from Scott and Liam" I waved my phone in the air before putting it in my back pocket.

Lydia sighed, "Are we really sure this is a good idea?"

"Uh, no. No one thinks this is a good idea" Stiles huffed.

"But you're trusting Theo anyway?" Stilinski raised his eyebrows.

I shook my head, "We're not trusting him, we're using him"

Lydia rolled her eyes, "What if he's using us?"

"That's probably a given," Stiles agreed, "But, look, we're just trying to cover every place Mason could show up. Malia and Braeden are at Scott's house"

"Melissa's got the hospital" his dad nodded.

"Hayden and Corey are at the school" Lydia continued.

Stilinski frowned in concern, "Somebody's got to find him"

I paused, "Let's hope they find Mason and not the Beast"

Lydia and I glanced at each other, she had told me earlier that she knew the story about the Beast. That Gerard had explained everything.

Lydia was on a call with the others, checking up on them. There was still no sign of Mason. As Stiles and I left his dad's office, he started to check his texts. There was a loud thud and I turned to see him cradling his head in his hands as he glared at the doorframe.

It had been a while since we had heard anything back and we were still stuck at the Station. Stiles had fallen asleep with his head in my lap as we sat on the couch. No matter how hard I tried to sleep, I just couldn't. There was too much happening, too much to worry about.

Lydia strode into the room, prodding him awake. He gasped, "What? What happened? Who's dead?"

She rolled her eyes, "No one. Well, at least not yet"

We moved up, giving her room to sit down next to us. I checked my phone at the same time as them, hoping for some kind of message.

"You guys okay?" she asked.

I nodded and Stiles sighed, "Yeah, I'm still thinking. Still trying to figure out why Mason? I mean, he wasn't even on the Genetic Chimera list"

Melissa entered the room, "He is now" she sighed. We walked over to the desk, where she had placed a file down, "Mason was born with twin embolisation syndrome"

"You mean foetal resorption?" Lydia frowned. Stiles and I glanced between them in confusion. "He had a vanishing twin in utero?" the banshee questioned.

"With accounts for two sets of DNA"

Stiles huffed, "Can someone please say it with words that have less than three syllables?"

Melissa nodded slowly, "He ate his twin"

"But did it help?" Lydia sighed.

"I don't know. But it's just bizarre enough to sound like it might be important, right?"

The banshee agreed, "It has to help, there has to be something"

We moved closer staring at the ultrasound photo that Melissa had taken from the file. Sure enough, there were two heads, two foetuses.
