Summer had started to draw to close before we knew it. I found myself in the car with Stiles and his dad as we headed to his next chapter. Stilinski made eye contact with me through the rear-view mirror and smiled at us. Stiles had sat in the middle seat in the back so that we could be close, but had ended up falling asleep on my lap.

I brushed some hair out of his face before absentmindedly fidgeting with my ring as I watched us pass tall, bright green trees. My mind went back to the Ghost Riders and the eerie green smoke that had appeared when people were taken.

The car jolted as we went over a bump in the road and Stiles moaned indignantly, drooling slightly on my leg. I grimaced and moved his head slightly, which caused him to wake with a start.

"What? What's going on?"

"You were drooling on me" I huffed, causing him to smile apologetically.

His dad cleared his throat, "Good timing, we're about five minutes away"

"Hey, hey, don't cry" Stiles murmured as he gently wiped a tear away with his thumb.

"Sorry, I'll just miss you" I sighed, hugging him tightly.

He moved back slightly, kissing me gently and passionately. We pulled away and he moved to his dad, wrapping his arms around him.

Stiles chuckled as he glanced at us, "Don't worry about me, okay? I'll call as often as possible and I'll, uh, make sure to come back for holidays and weekends"

"You promise?" his dad asked nervously.

"Can't get rid of me that easily!" I nodded, feeling my eyes well up again. "Hey, I promise to stay in touch, but you gotta tell me everything about UC Davis, okay? I need to know that you're enjoying it"

"Of course, just..." I searched for the right words, "I love you, remember?"

He grinned, "I love you too"

"You okay?" Stilinski asked as I sat in the passenger seat next to him.

"Yeah, I just can't believe it's over"

He frowned, "Over?"

I nodded, "High school seemed to go so quickly. I mean, so much has changed. We lost so much"

"But it's far from over, you've got the rest of your lives. And from what I've seen of your relationship with my son, you'll have plenty of time together"

"You really think so?"

He chuckled, "I sure hope so. You're good for each other, you make each other happy. I mean, I know that my opinion doesn't necessarily affect your relationship, but I hope that's not the only ring you get from him"

I smiled, twisting the promise ring as I looked at the horizon. "You know, you've really become a father figure to me. I didn't exactly know mine and although Chris is great, he's quite distant. But you've been here, you've looked after both Stiles and I. You've helped me through some pretty bad times. Thank you"

The man stared at me in surprise, his eyes glazing over a little. "I'm glad I could help, you've honestly become like a daughter to me. I don't know if I've been too obvious, but I do hope you end up together. I knew you were thf one gor him, I've known it for a while"

"How long?"

"When I overheard the two of you in the Animal Clinic. I only heard the last part, but you said that you'd do anything to make him happy. He said that he couldn't believe that you were his. Remember what you told him?" I paused for a moment. "You said 'always'. That one word meant more to both of us than you could possibly imagine. After all he's lost, he needs someone like you"

I rubbed my eyes to keep away my tears, "Thank you"

A/n:
Yes, I know how cheesy this was. I tried not to be too specific with locations or times, this might happen throughout the last half-season. The time line is so confusing and it makes it extremely difficult to write when I don't know if (for example) Stiles went to George Washington or Quantico or what times he went to each. In short, I'm incredibly confused. Sorry about any typos or weird spacing throughout both of these books, my phones stupid and I'm doing my best. But never mind that, thank you for reading this far and I hope your having a good day. It would be nice to hear some feedback from you, I want to improve my writing for this and any further books I write.
