Stiles gripped onto my hand as we anxiously waited at the front desk. "Stilinski, right? You said his insurance was with the county? He's a Deputy?" the nurse asked.

"No, he's the Sheriff, he's the county Sheriff, okay? He's covered, I mean he should be covered" Stiles snapped.

Melissa came up behind us, resting a hand on the boy's shoulder. "I'll take care of it," she told the nurse before pulling us aside, "I texted Scott, he's coming as soon as he can"

Stiles began to shake his head, "No, no, no. Don't, don't call anyone"

"Is there anyone else we need to notify?" the nurse called, "A next of kin?"

"No, it's me. It's just me" Stiles murmured the last part and I squeezed his hand.

Stiles rubbed his hands together, staring at his feet as we waited for news. I rested a hand on his knee, tracing comforting circles on it as I heard his heart beat racing. He stared at me, trying to hold back the tears as he grabbed my hand and squeezed it tightly.

After a while, I looked at him, smiling slightly when I saw that he had fallen asleep. Melissa made her way over to us, gently shaking him awake. He gasped, grasping my hand as he tried to get used to his surroundings. "Hey, he's okay," Melissa told him. We sighed in relief as she continued, "Dr Geyer is stitching him up right now"

"Okay, I wanna see him"

Stiles began to get up but Melissa gently pushed him back down," Okay, okay, okay. The anaesthesia needs to wear off, it's gonna be at least two hours"

He frowned, "Okay, yeah, but everything's gonna be okay though, I mean, he's okay?"

"He's gonna be just fine"

I watched as he leaned back in his chair, wiping his tears away, "Oh, thank God"

We stood outside Stilinski's hospital room, talking to Melissa and Dr Geyer. "Two hours ago, he was fine. Now it looks like somebody took a baseball bat to his neck!" Stiles huffed as he glanced at his dad.

"There could've been some minor internal" Dr Geyer sighed.

"Did you say 'Minor internal'? Since when is anything internal minor?" Stiles snapped.

I rubbed his arm gently, "Stiles"

He ignored me, "I need to know what's going on with him, okay? Dr Geyer, somebody needs to tell me what's happening. Somebody needs to tell me what's happening to him!"

Melissa paused, "We don't know"

I frowned as he looked at one of the doors, storming over and throwing it open. He shoved Scott against the wall before pinning him to the ground, "Where were you? You trusted him, you believed him. Right, huh? So where were you? Where the hell were you?" he yelled angrily.

I motioned for the others to leave him as I pulled him back. Dr Geyer went to help me restrain him as he struggled, "Okay! Alright, alright" he motioned for us to back off, but I stayed nearby"

"Look, your dad's not the only one who got hurt" Scott sighed.

"Oh, you'll heal"

The Alpha glanced at the red blotch on his shirt, quickly covering it up. He shook his head, "I'm not talking about me"

Stiles squeezed my hand as we slowly walked into the hospital room, staring at Lydia in shock. Two of her fingers were bandaged and she was completely catatonic. Mrs Martin turned to look at us, her tearful eyes suddenly filled with anger. "No. No, you don't. You're not coming in here. Get out!" she shouted.
