The three police officers continue to follow the footprints that lead into the woods. Suddenly, they came across the house trailer of high school principal Carl Maxwell. "Sir." The officer said to Bain. "The prints lead to someone's property." They find Maxwell's car parked in front of the house. "I think it belongs to the principal of that high school." Said Smith. "What is he doing here?" Asked Bain. "Well it is his home sir." Said the officer. "I know that." Said Bain. "But he's supposed to be at the school with them kids." Smith notices more footprints. "The monster's footprints lead through his yard." He said. "Recon he knows something he's not telling us?" Asked the officer. "He did believe you." "He said he didn't care if he believed me or not." Said Bain. "Maybe he might have seen it before." "Let's go ask him." Said Smith. "I guess it won't hurt to ask him a few questions." Said Bain. They decided to go to Maxwell's front door to see if he was home. Bain knocks on the door. "Maxwell!" He said. "Its Sherriff Ronald Bain! Open up!" Maxwell gets up out of his chair and opens the door for the policemen. "Hey." He said. "How ya doin Sheriff?" "Why'd you leave the school?" Asked Bain. "I told you that this is a town lock-down." "I had to check on a few things here." Said Maxwell. Bain points at the footprints on the ground. "You know anything about these footprints in your yard?" He asked. "They were here when I got here." Said Maxwell. "I was gonna go back to the school anyway. If you want me over there right now, I'll be happy to follow ya over there." The police begin to think that Maxwell was acting a little suspicious to them. "Mind if we come in and look around?" Asked Bain. "Go right ahead." The policemen go into Maxwell's home and started to search for any clues that could possibly show them if Maxwell knows anything about the monster. Maxwell sits back down in his chair and crosses his arms. While they were searching through his belongings, Bain finds an old framed painting of what appeared to be a painting of the monster they were all looking for. He takes it down from the living room wall and gets a closer look at the painting. The painting was titled with the name 'Taren' on it and it was dated back from the year 1974. It was also signed by Carl Maxwell.
