"Did you do this painting?" Asked Bain. "I did." Said Maxwell. "A long time ago." Bain looks at the painting again. "This is a perfect match of the monster we are after." He said. Maxwell nods his head. "Okay." He said. "You've got me. I know him." Smith over hears and rushes to him and Bain. "Tell us." "Sit down Sheriff." Said Maxwell. All the policemen sit down so Maxwell could tell them about the monster. "His name is Taren." He continued. "I call him the Lightning Creature. He was much smaller in that painting than he is now, but he's still the same monster I knew all those years ago." "Where did he come from?" Asked Bain. "I don't know." Said Maxwell. "Years ago, there used to be a log cabin here where this trailer is now, but it caught fire and burned down. I was finishing my yard work and it was already midnight before I finished. I looked into the woods and then i saw some eyes glowing in the bushes. As I got closer to it, I see this animal watching me in the dark. He backed up a little bit as I was moving closer to him, but he was pretty taim. I didn't know what he was. He was something I have never seen before. I left him alone for a while but he followed me all the way to my front porch. He just sat down and looked at me. What amazes me, is that when he was much smaller, he was still smart as he probably is now." "How smart is he?" Asked Bain. "Almost as smart as a regular human being." Said Maxwell. "I once caught him spelling his name in the dirt one night. That's how I found out his name was Taren. He understood everything I said to him. If only he could speak back." "Do you see Taren very often?" Asked Bain. "This is a first time I've seen him in years." Said Maxwell. "If he's back like this, it could mean one thing." "What's that?" Asked Smith. "He wants something from us." Said Maxwell. "Okay." Said the third officer. "Recon what he wants?" "If you wanna know what he wants," said Maxwell. "You're gonna have to ask him yourself." "Where can we find him?" Asked Smith. "He's around." Said Maxwell. "He only comes out at night though. You'll have to wait until midnight before you can see him." "So what are you saying we should do?" Asked Bain. "If ya willing to," said Maxwell. "We can wait until midnight to see him." The officers give it a lot of thought. "If it's the only way we can see it," said Smith. "Let's do it." "But what about all the kids in the high school?" Asked Bain. "I guess send em all home." Said Maxwell. "That way the parents won't have to worry about their kids." Bain quickly comes up with a plan. "Okay." He said. "Well have to take you back to the school and have you to tell everyone that they can all go home, then we'll have to call all the officers back to the police department and get ready to wait for this Taren." "I'll gladly help y'all out." Said Maxwell. "Since I'm the only one who knows the creature."
