Chapter 12. A Sudden Change of Plans

An officer runs quickly to Sheriff Bain in a panic. "Sir!" He yelled. "We can't let these kids leave!" Bain and Maxwell became confused. "Why not?" Asked Bain. "I just got a email from the science lab," the officeer continued. "and they know something about the monster. The main scientist demands for all the students to stay here. All night!" "Maxwell becomes angry. "Now they can't do that!" He said. "Who sent that email?" Asked Bain. "A man named Dr. Ferris Volcoff." Said the officer. "Him and all kinds of scientists are on their way here to Sammyville right now!" "We need to tell everyone that there has been a change of plans." Said Bain. "And we need to tell them fast!" Maxwell quickly gets back on stage to tell everyone that they need to stay after all." Maxwell to the stage once more.  "Attention!" He said. "I deeply apologize once again. But there has been a sudden change of plans. Everyone needs to remain here in the building a little while longer. I apologize for the confusion, but I repeat. All students must remain here in the high school until farther notice. Please remain calm and stay in the gym. That will be all." All the students became outraged with anger and began to demand the teachers and police officers why they suddenly cannot return home. A few students even tried to escape but were quickly detained by police. "This town is crazy!" Said one of the students in handcuffs. "I just wanna go home!" Eric, Angela, and Cody sat back down on the bleachers with disbelief of what was happening to the school. "This is madness!" Said Eric. "It sure is." Said Cody who was filming the rage on his phone. Angela hugs her brother with fear. "I'm scared Eric!" She said. Eric trys to calm her down. "It'll be alright." He said. "The police are gonna find this thing real soon and we'll be outta here. I promise." "I hope so." Said Angela.
